Hi Everyone from sunny Cornwall

Hi all Im 58 tall female looking to get back into cycling after a 40 yr break. Wanting to get a road bike, not a walk through frame one either, but jeeze didnt I have a bit of a problem swinging my leg over that saddle lol. Any advice along the way would be great, hope to chat to some of you in the near future.

Hey Melissa,

Welcome to Bike Forums from a Texas road rider.

Visit your local bike shops, Test rides.

Buy from the Friendly Shop.

You will then have a place to get quick answers to problems and or warranty work if needed.

welcome to the forum. There are a couple of ways to mount the bike that will reduce the upward leg swing.
One is to lean the bike towards you, the other is to lay the bike down, step over it and pick it up. Your lbs can show you these methods they are easier to understand seeing them than reading about them.

Welcome Melissa.

Another way to mount a bike is to swing your leg over the handlebars and not the seat.
