Hello from NJ USA

Hey guys.
I'm from New Jersey and haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid. My girlfriend was looking for a bike so that she could go biking with her son and my daughter so I went and got one for myself as well. Turns out I happened upon a pretty nice bike and I have come here to learn some more about it and cycling in general.

See you in the forums

Bikes: Worksman industrial bike

A newbie from Jersey here too! I'll spare you the "what exit" joke...

I was on here a few years back but my priorities and e-mail changed so I thought I'd start fresh. My kids are finally at the independent riding age and they get me to take out my crusty Worksman quite often. I need the exercise anyhow. I'd like to incorporate longer rides than just around our street, but I find it tough to schedule during the summer when the kids are home.

Talk to you when I talk to you!

Hey Scott.
Unfortunately I work 2 jobs but my daughter is 8 and my girlfriends son is 7. The kids and myself all have bikes we just need to get my girlfriend one. And ride time will be only weekends but better than nothing.

A Worksman industrial bike is my go-to bike. It's a lot like me: big, crusty and a bit hard to steer. I also have a Picnik folding bike that is in desperate need of restoration. But it does ride and is a bit lighter than the Worksman.

My GF found a Huffy Cruiser for 45 dollars on the Facebook sales app. Black one speed. Soon as I can I'll post some pics of it and the Bianchi I happened upon.

Bikes: Current: 2016 Bianchi Volpe; 1973 Peugeot UO-8. Past: 1974 Fuji S-10-S with custom black Imron paint by Stinsman Racing of PA.

Welcome!

We have been making an annual pre-Memorial Day trip to enjoy the pre-Summer season riding in the Cape May/Wildwoods area for the past 3 years. It is so nice.

Many a summer at the Jersey shores when I was a young man. Before these last years my last real bike rides in NJ were in 1976 when we spent a few days camping to watch the Tour of Atlantic City bike races. We may try a pre-season (or after season) jaunt to Long Beach Island to ride in Harvey Cedars.

Still can't get over that I am not allowed to pump my own gas in NJ...
