welcome Norty

May I take this opportunity to welcome myself to this wonderful new bike group. Again I must thank Katherine Chen for getting me past the initial difficulty I experienced getting started.

I am from Tasmania, Australia - Hobart, to be precise! I have a 2013 Giant Talon 29er which has a Cyclone 3000w mid drive fitted. I've recently upgraded the battery to a 72v 20.8ah but there's a bit more to do before I'll be back one the road with it.

I'm really enjoying acquiring the knowledge I don't yet have, but crave. Until it becomes my area of expertise, most of my questions will pertain to this bike!

I'm looking forward to chatting with a few of you e-bike conversion enthusiasts. For those who can afford the top end e-bikes, you are the people I envy!

..... cheers, Norty

Hi cb400bill,

I'm just letting you know that I'm leaving this forum. I have had nothing but frustration with it since I joined. I can't access private messages until I make ten posts. So I make ten posts only to find that the private messages were only auto generated notifications that my post is waiting approval. Approval? I know that forums are riddled with recruiters of terrorist organisations, scammers and Trump supporters - but the who lope thing is on time delay. I have to go and play outside while I wait to see if anyone has read my post.

The user interface is complicated and dysfunctional. You really need some sort of tutorial for newbies.

Sorry, I don't mean to be ungrateful - I'm just letting you in case anything I've raised is helpful to the running of the forum. I am available to assist further on nortonwilliamson@yahoo.com if you need me.

Too bad that you have such little patience. There is a lot of information here and many, many helpful forum members.

Your posts, like many newbies' posts, are moderated at first so we can weed out the spammers. Our forum was getting dozens and dozens of spam message per day, and we had to crank up the filters to stop them. Most of the moderation ends when the forum member gets to 10 posts. Which you just did.

Stick around. It gets better and easier to navigate the more that you participate here..
