Late introduction
Hi!
I’m currently reintroducing myself to cycling after decades of neglect. I was an avid cyclist in the late ‘70s-‘80s. Madison, WI and Northern CO were my riding grounds. I’m back in Madison now and I picked up a nice Sekai for $100, so I’m having a good time cleaning it up and making what would’ve been a dream bike as a teenager (my Sekai 2000 was stolen in ‘80). I moved to CO the next year and rode a Univega Sportour through ‘87. Now I find myself tuning my butt as much as my bike.
I’ve got some pretty remarkable hand-me-down bikes from my dad. He’s always been a cycling fanatic and his collection is as eclectic as it is creative.
Besides my Sekai, I’ve got his Gios Super Record with the Zeus 2000 Ti group, and his custom mod ‘50s Schwinn mtb/cruiser. There are more, but they’re the ones I ride.
Let me know if I left out any key points, or if you want to discuss Fort Collins, bullheads, and “thorn proof” tubes.
