I'm not the type of person to talk much.
I'm 50+ guy who is retired and rides by myself for the health benefits.I try to put in 600-800 miles per month. Most of my bikes are early 90's era steel frames.
That is all.

Welcome.
I also enjoy solo riding more than doing group rides.
I do enjoy some of the short meets riding and the same goes for many of the threads here on BF's.
Im also 50+ and enjoy riding vintage steel bikes and sometimes newer steels and carbons. N+1 bikes like many here.

RB I'm 70+ now, try to get in 300 - 400 miles each month as well. Many of those are on my trainer in the basement, in that where I live I'm not inclined to ride outside when it's raining or blowing over 20 mph or below maybe 50°F. Still, it's all exercise I wouldn't get otherwise, and an escape from the more mundane pursuits of daily life.
In that I still work (retail hardware store) ~ 30 hours a week I consider myself 're-treaded', 'retirement' not being an attractive proposition just yet.

Welcome RustyBearings
Lots of us in your category of 50+, retired, riding alone (mostly) on 30+year-old steel bikes.
Then there are some of us in the 65+ category, riding 40+yo steel bikes.
Not so many in the 75+ category, riding 50+yo steel bikes.
I'm riding a couple of steelies over 50+.
Wish I could roll back the years to 65.
Ride On!

Late 1960's with original paint & decals.
regards - Stuart
Never underestimate an old guy on an old bike with skinny tires.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin!
That's a lot of miles. 50+ isn't that old, around here. I'm a young guy here, as I'm < 50.
I like the 80s steel bikes, but not the skinny tires and stiff ride, got to have one of those flexy steel forks to go with it, IMO.
Enjoy your stay.

You should visit the C&V forum; folks there will like your 90s era road bikes. Plus it's a good source of info if you need it on finding parts for those bikes as well as fixing them up.

Greetings from a 60+ solo rider, and fellow loner, in the Pacific Northwest! When I lived in Utah, used to ride with a few people from work occasionally, and even tried a few organized group rides. But found I was always going at a pace that seemed unnatural to me - either slowing down to stay with the group (not too often), or more often, perpetually behind and feeling (internal) pressure to keep up. All in all, just found the rides not as enjoyable.

As has been noted, definitely check out the Classic & Vintage section of the forum. It is very active: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/
