I just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Alexandria, VA and work in the same (all within the boundaries of Old Town)... Luckily I'm only about two miles to work so I trade off on riding/walking to my job. No point taking Metro for such a short ride if you ask me, though some of my co-workers look at me funny when they hear me say I walked to work. Especially when it is raining out!

I used to do that and live there. I lived on Queen St., West St. King St. in Oldtown,and Rosemont, Mt. Vernon, Dogwood in other parts of Alex. I'm usually over in Car Free in Bike Forums

Commuting by bike is great in the area. I live in Prince Georges County Maryland and work in Old Town Alexandria. But 2 miles is better for walking. See you at Misha's maybe.
