I presume this means you've gone and examined the site(s)? Not good news and further delays might mean no use of a new bridge in 2024 either...

The county is going to move at the pace that they can as their time and budget allows. I think individuals contacting the county (either county) will have about zero effect in moving this project along. If an organization, or a couple organizations can come together and apply pressure that may nudge the project along. Think Washington Bicycle League, Potomac Pedalers, etc. I was a board member of MORE MTB club 20-ish years ago and the club had good/established relationships w/ several county govts in the DC area and we could get things nudged along as we had the numbers (members), and had an established relationship w/ various counties in the region.

YMMV

It’s still slated to be completed spring of 2024.

The current status on AAcounty.org says: “Material clearance and regulatory reviews of replacement manufactured components are in process. Once complete, bridge assembly, erection and launch to be initiated.”

So, things are happening just not at the site for the moment.

No change

It’s been saying that by the county for months. It’s been going on regulatory review since last June.

Sorry just created this account to update everyone so I can't direct link but if you search youtube for 'WB&A Trail Bridge Project Status 21 March 2024' under channel Spokes-n-Sprockets. They have some drone footage and there appears to be some recent activity at the site and initial assembly of the bridge that I have not seen before.

Thanks! I found a video, I guess I see some progress; but the accompanying music implied I'd be seeing Dodge Chargers doing doughnuts on the job site. Sheesh.

Looks like there was progress made between the two videos made 10 days apart. One posted on 3/21/2024 and the other on 3/31/2024. Looks like length of the partially assembled bridge increased during that 10 day period. And a construction/office trailer placed at the site.
