Hello, willisgirl
Always lots of riding in this town. Are you looking for long 60+, med. 30-40 or shorties 15-20?
check out the Baltimore Bicycling schedule and MeetUp/Bmore Biking

Just to note that Senator Stone (Baltimore County District 6) is trying to repeal the manslaughter by vehicle law we just passed last year. Or more technically correct he is trying to raise the standard ridiculously high.

The standard for negligence should not be as high as gross negligence especially when you kill someone. More info: https://www.baltimorespokes.org/artic...20228175233709

What's the best response for this?
And, BTW what possesses people to alter a law like this? Lobbying? Does he have a personal reason for changing the law?

Best response? Follow your gut.

Traffic law started out as limiting certain actions that have potential in causing harm. We are now at a point where our law makers focus on the action and not the harm. Case in point speeding fines go up as the speed increases but no change (generally) in fines if no crash, in a crash, injury or fatality. A case in MoCo where a driver doing 45 in a 25 zone killed a boy crossing the street. The boy was found at fault for failing to yeild and the driver had to pay a speeding ticket, the same amount if he just got caught in a speed trap.

April Ramble: On Again/Off Again https://randoramble.posterous.com/on-...ff-again-again

and while I'm at it:
May will be Monument to Monument (probably first sunday of the month)
June will likely be a 120 mile Ramble up to Gettysburg
mid-June I plan on scheduling an extra credit ride: M2MX3 (3 Geo.Wash monuments- Balt/DC/Boonsboro) 190 miles
July? If I'm lucky with work scheduling, I'd do NR's Ocean City, MD ride.

Hah! I guess so. If I'm going to do it, I guess I'd better make my reservations asap.

I believe Walt is still offering the rides across, for a small fee. I will likely do that, again, as I did last year.

Or... an all-in-one Dash to the Beach using Walt outbound and van service for the Bay Bridge- abt. 300 miles.

It'd be nice riding those eastern shore roads in the dark, especially if it's hot.

I'll note I am making plans to be out in Maryland, time frame ~ July 1-20. More details has I have them but we should get together and ride!

I will also note I'm looking for a floor to crash on, preferably with wifi as my classes are on-line.

Have fun! I have a feeling you'll get a big turnout for this one.

Earlier I had been pondering riding from my house to meet up with everyone at the Dorsey Road 7-11, but I've been sick as a dog (well, maybe not that bad -- that's an odd saying, anyway -- why a dog?? but definitely more than a bit out of sorts) since before I got back from Vegas. No riding, almost no physical activity at all for the past week. And as it happens, I've got to head up to PA this weekend for a family visit.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy ride!

Take care of yourself, Max. If they have their wifi installed, don't forget your tablet. Remember that you'll have to attach using their router password. [I know that you now all of this]

I have that same feeling.
I'll be hoping to locate someone I know in the crowd of strangers.

We'll miss you.
