That wouldn't be a good idea. You would run the risk of snapping your headtube doing that. That is also most likely more travel than you would need.

For the added weight and size as well as messing up your geometry alot I don't really think that you would be gaining much. Just a suggestion. I also think the Insync edge fork that came on your bike is only 120 mm. 2 inches may not seem like much but it really is. I know it was weird enough for me going from a 130mm fork to a 150mm one, thats not even an inch. What kind of riding do you do? What size jumps/drops?

my fork had stickers on the stanchions satating "130mm"so i'm pretty sure and also my fork is made by Spinner. I do alot of freeride style stuff, street, smallest drop is about 3 feet biggest i've done was a little over 5 feet. I do downhill whenever possible. i also do a lot of singletrack
I take that back the biggest drop i did was on a gravel bike path that had two switchbacks, elevation dropped a little over six foot on the first and 8 on the second if you went straight instead of following the path, i did the first and bottomed my fork out and on the second one i rode off it for a little the hopped and did like four feet.

I looked back through your other posts and noticed you had the 66VF listed as a possible upgrade, I'd definitely go with that over the Junior T.

hi..
Chris!
thanks for answering, ok it took so long!
Christmas is comming..soon, and that's about when i will try to get a bruiser! so i got time.
i'm new here and still trying to understand what all the specs mean, annd how they affect ridding!
kinda having fun doing it, even though i still dont get it.
i am curious however about how well the Bruiser can climb.
Chris, have you gone up any hills or steep inclines of any kind?
how was it?
or i guess any of you guy's, if you can tell me more about your experience both on and off the
trail's with the Bruiser!
also would the Bruiser-1 be better suited for more all around use or more versatile than the Bruiser-2?
i ask cause i see that the Bruiser-1 has three chainrings!
thanks for any info you guys can share!!!!!
and thanks for a great forum.

They're actually the same bike, except for the Bruiser 2 comes with better components. I mine climbs alright, i really don't climb all that much on it anyway. I would say you'll enjoy the bike. It's been good for me so far. Definately have fun with it, and oh yeah Welcome!

Its a great play bike for the money, don't expect to climb like a XC bike with it though. I ended up parting the bruiser apart and use some of the parts to Build my Giant VT2 FS rig. Now I can climb up the steep stuff and bomb and jump down the rest. I have my bruiser frame laying in my room collecting dust, one day I'll get rid of it.

if you put a longer stem on it, it will be better for climbing...itll bring your body further forward and gives you more room to spread your body on the climbs

i honestly don't think the bike should be purchased for climbing at all. i hate climbing up hills (urban) with my bike. it just doesn't feel good.
for what i do, the bike is perfect. if you're a trail rider, going up slopes all day, get a hardrock if you're looking for a cheap bike. actually, i think for dirt trails and such, the hardrock would be better overall.
bruiser is great for dirt jumping and urban assault though. i'm pretty much all urban, so i love the bruiser.
