Gear Shifter

I adjusted the gear shifting levers on my Marin Rock Springs 2 because grinding up on my thumb. Now I am worried about somehow messing up my ride. Is it ok to adjust my gear shifting levers on the handle bar?

You've only adjusted the mounting position on the handlebar?

Did you ride it after you adjusted the position?
It should not have any effect on your shifting.
