I'm a long time Freerider guy, but I'm due for some new shoes. Do folks like the Guide Tennies for MTB? I ordered a pair on a whim, waiting for them to arrive. They look a little bulky/thicker on the bottom--and I'm used to how the Freeriders feel. I feel connected, and I have good "feedback" from the pedal. Just curious if anybody cares to chime in on the Guide Tennies vs Freeriders.

When I use 5-10, I have to raise my seat a few mm. The extra thickness is a benefit, not a problem.

Well, I got them but apparently I ordered the wrong size(sized up cause I was under the impression they ran small). Will need to send them back, so I can't really try 'em out on the bike/outdoors! Doh!
They do seem pretty nice. Maybe a little overbuilt for my biking needs. Might just get another pair of trusty Freeriders. If it ain't broke....

Guide Tennies seem to be climbing shoes. They'd probably work fine for biking but are not designed specifically for it. Or they might be to flexible and not work well at all, I know climbing shoes are very flexible usually.

Wow the Sleuths do like cool! I like that they're a little more streamlined than the Freerider. Might just have to wait to try these out before springing for something else...

Yeah my current Freeriders look fine on the bike, and they look ok off the bike, and I'm not fashion paranoid enough to change shoes just for a slight improvement in looks...but I have been interested in the new slueths as something with no compromises in looks (possibly).

Yeah, if I wasn't due for new ones I'd just stick with what I've got. I'm fine with Freeriders too, though I'm mostly riding a drop-bar gravel bike and I suppose the skate shoe look might not be the most fashionable Maybe the sleeker Samba-esque Sleuths will make me look cooler on the gravel
