well yesterday me and a friend wen to our local woods (to do a track that we had ben practicing) to find at the start of it someone made a cut out,(even better start line)so my freind being all talk and no go said"im gonna jump that, and as usual *****ed out (i had no intention of doing that till my skill progressed)

So what i want to know is how fast should i be going to jump it (its roughly 6 foot, with quite a light decent)
what would be the worst that could happen if it went wrong (i have no padding or helmet)

all edited for the better

You may land on your head and suddenly remember that all sentences start with a capital letter, and end with a period (or a question mark, in this case).

From what I can gather you wouldnt need to be going amazingly fast, maybe 13-15mph if you hopped it...

No it matters here. Its makes you post difficult to read which most people on here do not appreciate.

Spelling matters too

It also matters through out the rest of your life if you want to get a good job, or even have the respect of your peers. If you write like a 5 year old, people will treat you like a 5 year old.

You forgot your period maelstrom.

Anywho, this is a forum where respect is earned, not given. Respect is what gets you good responses to questions.

What's the worst that could happen? You could fall...

You could fall on your chest, give yourself a chest compression and screw up your pulse. You could break ribs, break a wrist or two, break an ankle or two. Anything can happen, dude.

Dude, get yourself a helmet. They aren't that expensive. There is no glory in getting knocked out because you weren't wearing a helmet.

A visit to the hospital would surely cost more if you meet an accident. GET A HELMET (one that meets safety standards). You would only need full-face helmets for downhill or extreme riding, and they're hot. You can use a normal bike helmet.

Helmets are good. My jaw wouldn't be in place and I would likely be in the hospital if it wasn't for my full face. If only I didn't land on the soft spot on my body armour....arg...
