Short max insertion dropper?
I have an older Liv Pique full suspension bike in size XS. I'm trying to modernize the ride for my wife by adding a dropper.
This is one of those FS bikes that has a bunch of stuff going on in the seat tube, and it's also really small.
The externally routed 100mm PNW I had on her other bike is way too long. I did some measurements and it seems that a height from the bottom of the collar of the post to end of the seatpost needs to be no more than 180-185mm.
The only one I could find is the One Up V3 in 90mm. That's got a max insertion of 175. It would work. It's short but so is she.
I'm sure it's an excellent post. It's $269 and I could get 15 percent off if I sign up for emails. It's a steep price for such a tiny dropper. The same cost as the 210mm one.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper or off brand dropper with a similarly short max insertion? The bike is 30.9 but I'm very happy to shim a 27.2. With the way is set up for the no longer used front derailleur, it would be simple to do either internal or external routing.
Any ideas?

I'm replying to my own thread here in hopes that maybe this will be useful for someone else sometime.
I took some measurements, went for a run, came home and gave the dog a bath, took some more measurements and arrived at an expensive but probably ideal solution.
This bike is an XS women's model. The woman who rides this bike is 4'9". Her hardtail is a Cleary. Trouble is, the manufacturers don't downsize their spec. This bike had 170mm crank arms. Crazy, since off road I ride 165 and 160 and I'm a foot talle. So I ordered her a new crankset in 155mm. This will allow me to raise her seat quite a bit.
Now, I'm not as stuck with the tiny 90mm post, I can upsize to the 120mm and shim it down to 110 or 100 if I need to. My measurements are kinda saying it'll be 110 but you can't quite know until there is a butt in the saddle. Same price but for some reason doesn't feel like as much of a toy.
When you're sub 5', you might not have ridden a bike that fits since you were a kid. This is a struggle my wife has always had. I was able to justify the extra money knowing that the cranks will make this bike fit her a lot better and the post will make it so much more rideable.
We'll see this spring.

So I had a chance to assemble the new parts today.
Those short cranks are so good. The company is Samox but the sticker that came in the box said SamCX. Perfect fit and a definite higher quality feel from the Amazon/eBay/Ali stuff. $90, so it's not like they're orders of magnitude more expensive than knockoffs. There's no question in my mind that I'll never have to explain to an injured wife why I put cranks made from cheese on her bike. I'm still kinda annoyed that Liv, a women's bike sub company, spec'd an XS with 170mm cranks. These are 155.
Visually, it's very obvious just how much shorter they are. This combined with that One Up V3 dropper I just put on, already puts this bike pretty close to fitting perfectly. I've got 20mm worth of adjustment if it's a touch too tall or she gets a thicker saddle.
To any sub 5' women struggling with dropper seatpost length on a full suspension bike, check your crank length. It's probably the same as your 6'2" guy friends bikes.
