Here's a ride from yesterday....sorry about the random skipping repeat, no idea how to fix it.

Nice Fall ride, beautiful views and 17 miles of fun...

First time on my MTB in months!!! It was awesome!
"Tree Farm" trail in Novi, MI. A lot of fallen trees after very strong winds day before.
I ended up clearing few of big ones with the help of other riders + countless smaller debris by myself. A lot of wildlife anywhere you look...
Beautiful weather, around 57F and very sunny from time to time.

Rode the Porker on a nearby short loop. It's really cobby and choppy, so the Porker seems to be faster and more efficient on it. 1-2mi trail that I just do over and over. It beats the streets, fo sho!

Had Saturday off so I went to a local park to play some baseball with some friends, & brought the Hornet along. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it's a common skate spot because of the large number of open stair sets, gaps, rails, & ledges. Found a spot with stretch of grass about 10' long leading to a 4.5' ledge, & at the bottom of that drop is about 6' until another ledge, ~3' down. Busted my ass pretty hard several times trying to find a way down both of them, finally decided the easiest way in this case was to stop parallel right next to the edge of the first ledge & bunny hop sideways down to the bottom, then get some speed running parallel to the second ledge & manual off at an angle. Never even got the first drop without busting my ass, but I was able to get the second when I started on it. Danny Macaskill makes this stuff look so easy:lol: I had to make time for baseball & longboarding as well so I didn't have much time to try any other features, but next time I have a day off with four wheels available, I'll definitely be heading back with the GoPro.

Sounds fun, Sam. Def pic's next time.

Took the GoPro to the park to just scout some jump spots. Most are pretty small but there's decent variety and a few high speed spots (once the park goers are out of the way, lol).

Beautiful morning on the local trails here in Colorado Springs...seems like I was the only one out there this morning, and that was nice!

If you're in Cbus, I highly suggest you check out Horn's Hill in Newark....the place is an unbelievable skill builder

Do you all have year round riding on the front range? Its not going to be long before its too cold to ride here...

Pretty much....sometimes have to get out later in the evenings/earlier in the mornings to get on the trails while they're still frozen.
Plus, with a large number of trails here, one can usually find something ride-able 12 months/yr.

I usually am able to ride year round...unless there is absolutely to much snow and the temp drops below zero...I usually break out the ridgid in the dead of winter, it handles the chilling temps! ca7erham, Where are you located that it gets to cold? Are you further up in the mountains?

Awesome! Thanks for the tip dude.

Watching vids of it right now. Had no idea there were trails like that so close. Can't wait to ride them. Stupid autumn, hopefully there'll be a decent dry period at some point soon

Google chainsmoke and look around their forums for when people are meeting up for shuttling...also i've ridden horn's in pouring rain and the trails were fine; they're unlike anything else in ohio as far as drainage goes

Thanks for the tip, I got a place to stay for free in Golden, might have to spend a few weekends up there

I'm in Gunnison...it gets cold, already around 20 a 8am usually, It should be warmerish in the day, but I can usually only ride mornings and evening

On another note, I got a great 10 mile ride in today, 2300 feet of super techy climbing, of course followed by 2300 feet of super techy badass downhill. I wish I had money for something that climbs better than a 7 inch 1x9 freeride porker.

Ran into some more good pixie-dust coming off Lair o' Bear.
Running hot & pulled a nice 2-wheel drift that coulda cost me a limb or 2 that I can't afford to break, but the moistiness of the dirt set me back on track. (A bit drier & I would have ended up plenty off-trail.) :)

The moistiness didn't help climbing Mt Falcon, but I don't think anything will help me there until I get about 50# of liposuction work done.

lol Mt Falcon kicks my butt every time.

I just found over 5mi of technical singletrack on the way home from work that I didn't even know was there! I rode over 10 miles of it (out'n' back) and still didn't see it all before dinner. I'm freakin' stoked! Rode it on the Krapper and got beat to death...it's pretty rocky. Can't wait to ride it on the Komodo and the Porker. Pics next time.

Left work early for a ride on the newly found trails. Took the porKer this time. It was faster, more comfortable, but definitely more work in ma'legs. I could use about 1" more seatpost and 5mm more crank arm to make the thing pedal well. The lower trail section has several boulder drops varying from 6" up to 3'. It's a fun trail, but I'm thinking next time on the Komodo will be the best yet.

^^ Happens with slow or 'toggling-server' connections - - and sometimes when IB traffic is heavy or they're having server issues.
