Did a 4 day circumnavigation of a nearby mountain range. Rode from our front door.

The view from your front door is prettier than my computer background. |

Taking advantage of the first snow of the season. My rear derailleur froze up enough to make my bike a single speed. Anyone know of a way keep a bike shifting in freezing temps and a couple inches of snow hahaha?

The only bad thing I see with this trick is the European plug ;-)

Dead sailor ne1? I offered the quoted video for some lolz. I felt like I really improved today, despite the video. I was able to handle the sharp turns a lot better without being so generous with the brakes. Will be looking forward to my next ride. |

It was 90 degrees yesterday when I left for my ride. Went out for a short ride at the 50 year trail, did the Chutes and Middlegate loops. (Tucson, Az) |
Got a good ride in before the "family hike". Did some work on a steep/tall roll-in boulder...I'll get pic's next time. It was sketchy b/c there was a sapling at the run-out. I rolled up to it and gimped out probably 6 times. Went down to the run-out and cut the sapling down with my pocket knife. No more sketchy run-out. Rolled it a couple of times. It's probably 8' tall or so but pretty daggum steep.

Rode yesterday with a new XC friend from work. She was ballin' an Anthem 29, so I started on the techy 'rock-crawley' trail just to be ornery. We took the flowey XC loop back to make up for it. Watching her negotiate the techy stuff on a 29'er pretty much solidifies my decision to stick with 650b or shorter. It just looked so cumbersome trying to negotiate.
It's kinda comical how many people are on a 29'er trying to venture out onto that section of trail. It's not like it's a trials course or anything, but there are a handful of sections that I have to hop off now and then. It's either a confidence builder or frustration. I thoroughly enjoy it, myself. |
A nice technical descent with a few stairs, drops, and jumps over my lunch break!
http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/8536/downhillb.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us and at the bottom of the descent....a nice little bike park with some teeter-totters, ladders, skinnies, and drops.... http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/7503/bikepark.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
Here is a video I took with a camera I bought from ebay. Average quality imo.. I must get a GoPro.. :)

22 miles in sunny Peublo....and we hardly left the fun stuff in the canyons.

Kick arse day at Palmer Park on one of my favorite trails, Templeton Trail. I was overdressed and a sweaty mess when done.
