Lovely little ride in the north mountains today. Just a little snow...no dramas.
Getting to the top was a bugger after the Christmas / New Year cheer, but the descent was oh so sweet. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...4903_edit0.jpg |
If you forget water, there may be other options.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0040.jpg Watch the LZ. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0020.jpg May be a bit slippy. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0014.jpg On! On! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0043.jpg |

I went downhilling for the first time today. Sketchy. I also experienced my first snow ride today as well.

We did our weekly Thursday niteride down in roberthurst/mrgrunt's neighborhood last night. |
Took the new hardtail for a ride this morning. Man it was cooold. Loving the simplicity of a hardtail 1x10 though. I think this bike is going to see a lot of use.

Yami, nice HT...and how cold is to cold? My morning ride today was a balmy 8 degrees.
Lubes, thats crazy...I met up with a college buddy at Ridgeline Thursday morning, pics below. My work schedule has been sporadic, but one of these days/evening we need to link up for a ride! Pre-ride warm up brandy shots... http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=293182 Mid-ride vitamins... http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=293183 |

Hardtail + largest tires I've got to cram into the frame/fork = ersatz fatbike.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...s/IMG_0060.jpg Thinking to stick a fatbike fork/wheel on the front - shorter fork but taller tire will about equal the front end height of the 160mm fork when sagged. Timer was showing me no love yesterday. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0086.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0108.jpg |
Finally took the camera on a ride today. Haven't been on our local DNR land since the logging started a few months ago.

Went for a night ride last night. Stopped for some water and to give the pup a break and when i shined my light up into the hills there was about 5-6 pairs of eyes glaring back at me. Creepy...

12F while out today.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0134.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0121.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0144.jpg Was even colder a couple hours earlier, when I took the dog out for her run. Then spent the rest of the afternoon on the current project - insulating my very chilly garage. It'll stay warmer/be easier to get warmed up to comfot when working out there, and will reduce the rest of the houses energy costs as a bonus. I'm about halfway done. Slow going - pulling down the existing/older inner bits then putting in the insulation bits, and paneling over is time consuming. 3/4 hardwood ply on the walls - so I can attach things as needed, and 1/4 moisture resistant luan board on the ceiling. Then, when all that is done, I can get the whole thing more organized/put together, so I can have room to get my tablesaw up and running for a few other things. |
What things looked like when first out of bed this afternoon, pre-coffee.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0152.jpg Post. Limited time between waking up and having to get back to work tonight, so... http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0196.jpg Runnin' with the devil. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0173.jpg Totally looks smaller than 65# with this effect shot. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0189.jpg |
Rode today. I'm WAY out of shape and trying to get back into cycling. The hills around my neighborhood are murder on me.
Did combination trail and road. Distance: 3.12 Miles Moving Time: 22' 51" Stopped 1' 25" Total Time 24'16" Max Speed 30.8 (GPS Error, no way I got that fast today) Moving Average 8.2 Mph Overall Average 7.7 Mph |
Single-speed Surlys ride snowy singletrack on a sunny Saturday, sweet!

yesterday, we decided to hop on a ferry and go to Samal Island.
We finished the 30+km ride (map only shows the ride within the island), in about 2 hours, with a stopover at the Azalea Peak. it was a fun and easy ride. http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/...psd92d08b8.jpg |
Yesterday.
Fish eye lens effect doesn't carry through as well when there isn't much in frame. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0207.jpg I'm digging playing with the miniaturization effect though! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0203.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0204.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0202.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...95904419_n.jpg |

If my snow was that thin, I might. Our two feet has settled into a foot but it's still very much there. Keep the pics coming, I need the inspiration whilst trainer-bound.
