Hehehe...I don't hit it like a DJ...the transitions on it aren't too "air friendly". Still fun though.

Chimney Gulch\Apex & Mt.Falcon\Parmalee Gulch - Colorado
My buddy and I rode Monday AND Tuesday of this week. Both Trails were in GREAT condition! Monday we even had a little cloud cover to cut the heat!
Monday's ride was about 12 miles (Chimney Gulch with the Apex Loop) - with about 2K feet of climbing - lots of technical switchbacks and some great wooded trails on the downside... it was simply heavenly! http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/641195 Then yesterday (Tuesday) we did Mount Falcon with the Parmalee Gulch loop... http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/3153504 Another 2K(ish) foot climb... Parmalee kicked my ass! http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._4148476_n.jpg A bit sore today ... but I can't wait for Sunday! we are gonna do a 50 mile road ride.... like I say... "man! this getting in shape business - is hard work!" |
After my ride yesterday, I was going to take it easy today...possibly not ride at all. I went out for a spin on the Komodo and kept on'a'spinnin!
Met up with "Sis" and we took turns kickin' each others butts for a while. One thing I've noticed...I lack motivation when I ride alone. It was just blah until I crossed her path. (the second time) Once I started following her...I stepped it up and had alot more fun! Got to the "half-way-hill" descent and took over the lead by her request due to the tech'y sections ahead. |
I got out for a ride......it was fun.......I hardly ever ride the Enduro anymore........just the hardtail......it's fun to ride..........that is all.........

Riding bikes is fun. Pedaly XC yesterday, Ninham cross-stuntry today, heading to Diablo tomorrow.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0077.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0058.jpg Then I still have Monday and Tuesday that are available to ride. :) |
Today's ride: (F.I.N.S.) Fantasy Island North Singletrack in Goodyear, Arizona. Stellar singletrack.
|
Friday: near five hours zooming around Blue Mtn.
Saturday: three hours bumping and grinding around Ninham MUA. Sunday: lift served fun at Diablo Monday: two hours around Wilton Woods Tuesday: pavement to and from Huntington, about two hours in the woods. Hit up a slight detour for a snack on the way home. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/IMG_0003.jpg |
Did the JPL again today, it has the most technical single track (for me anyways:)) and this was one of our fastest decent to the date my buddy had a very close call today. Near the end of the ride there is this fairly steep short rock garden while he was coming down his chain popped off and as you can imagine it was an instant disaster he lost his balance and off he went I don't know how but he came to a stop on the edge of about 30 foot drop. Of course after the initial shock went away I took a picture of him. :D This picture does no justice how steep and long that drop was, half of his body was literately hanging off the side of the cliff.

Rode Levis/Trow Mounds in Neillsville, Wisconsin last weekend. We got in on Saturday night, set up camp and did a night ride, then made a small fire on top of one of the mounds(really a cliff) and watched fireworks from surrounding towns on the horizon. Woke up in AM and did another ride before the drive home. Best place Ive rode thus far in my small riding destinations resume.

What's that iphone app called?
There is a free one up that only allows you to save 1 map at a time, or the regular is usually 10 bucks on sale for 2 or 3 i believe. |
Did 8-10mi this morning before work.

3 hour 30 mile ride up and around Mt Spokane. 45 min climb to the cross country ski trails, 1 hour loop on CC trails and then another 45 mins climbing to the top of the mountain. Took the Kit Carson loop trail and turned on trail 110 for the final down hill. Start was at 1751 Ft and I topped out at 5885 ft.
View from the CC trails looking back up the mountain. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...r/IM000106.jpg View from the top looking back on the trails I sarted on. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...r/IM000111.jpg Comming down Kit Carson Loop http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...r/IM000117.jpg View from the back side http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...r/IM000114.jpg The current ride. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...r/IM000108.jpg |

I took a ride on Croom trail today for about an hour. It was really hot and humid, and eventually started to rain. Once I saw the first bolt of lightning I headed back home.

Good times at Trumbull. Wife ran while I rode. |
I was supposed to ride at 05:30 this morning with a friend...it rained. I slept in and went to work.
Met Joe at the Mansion tonight. Temperature - 92 °F Humidity - 97% I asked Joe if he wanted to do the race course for the upcoming race..."Nahhh", he said. "It's too dang muddy. Let's just do the paved climb 6 times." Not even a laugh. Was he serious? I'm on the single speed, man!?! 3/4 up the first climb, I was already tired! Crested it, did a quick circle back and bombed down 45-50mph to the bottom. Started the second climb. 1/2 way up it started raining like madd while the sun was shining. I told Joe that I had to put my phone in his truck b/c it's freakin' dorky-expensive and doesn't like to get wet. Back from the truck across a connecting trail. Rain stopped. It was soooo friggin' hot that the pavement was steaming like crazy with the sun beating down on it. It was like being in hell or something...riding in a giant sauna. (Pics are for effect only...not really from the ride...unfortunately) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ed_Hot_Sun.PNGhttp://www.ajfroggie.com/roadpics/ms...us45-steam.jpg 3rd climb. I told joe he was crazy for saying "6 times". We got to the bottom again and he said "Wanna take a cross trail back to the trail head?" "Heck no, man! 6 times!" I said. After the 5th time, I was shot. We rested again at the bottom and started #6. I wasn't sure I was gonna make #4...let alone 6. I got to the steep part and for some reason my negative mindset disappeared and I was all power. I finished the 6th faster than the first. I don't know where the crap it came from...but felt good to beat myself to death for no reason. Cliffs Notes: Climbed boring hills for an hour and a half. The end. |
