^^ Isn't that why it's always so pretty and green there ;)? That's one reason I don't live on the coastal side of our state anymore, beautiful as it is.
Man, that was one of the few things I didn't miss about leaving the northwest! (grew up and lived a long time around the eugene area) I've got the 3rd-6th planned for heading up and ride Killington and the vicinity for a couple days, and I'm hoping the wetness slacks off a bit. Same trip last year got bagged off after the first day due to torrential downpouring - so bad they closed the mountain and lifts down. |

Though it's been a little warm, I got out Monday and Tuesday for an hour-and-a-half each: Mon - 96deg / 85% humidity Tues - 100deg / 85% humidity |

Rode the Mansion with Joe last night. Joe threw up within the first 20 minutes.http://www.bagophily.com/images/barfsmiley.gif

Effin hot out there!!!!
We went just two of us but ended up riding with like 6 or seven guys. A few looked like they where experienceing early signs of heat stroke. Everyone made it out fine. I think I finally got the setup right on this Viento. Fork wound all the way out to 130 was weird getting up the switchbacks at first, but with a quick style adjustment all was well and the bike was rippin. It (low front tire pressure and effectively softer spring) even managed to hide the relative lack of stiffness in the fork. We went out there hoping to go twice around b17 but that was the first real hot ride of the summer and we were not yet acclimated. |
That Viento is pretty "hot" in itself.

Thank you. I am enjoying it alot.
However I don't think there is any magic in it. While I can highly recommend a ht with very similar geometry, I'd equally recommend spending less than 600 dollars. Remember; I stumbled on a new one for 300. But it is kinda hot huh...... There's new pics in the post yer ride thread. |
I rode road today.

The perfect day. I felt really flowy on the Komodo today. I never even felt tired. I did some long lung busters...but I did them just a tiny bit slower than usual. Really let me enjoy the trail. The only thing that could have made it better would have been if I weren't riding solo. I needed a good fast riding buddy to chill with. I stopped at the railroad tracks for a drink of water. Gave me a chance to just "soak it all in". (phone picture...sorry) http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2...e/IMAG0015.jpg |
Here's a few pics from this weekend. We rode the Rim trail and South Yuba River trail just above Nevada City, CA. I love riding this trail. It's one of the most challenging I've ridden, both in terms of physical demand and mental. For about eight miles, there's a cliff to your left that promises a good maiming or a quick death if you fall down it.
Here's five of us: http://cycling.mattandjosey.com/Sout...ba-fatrac1.jpg Getting to the Rim trail means a three mile fire road climb: http://cycling.mattandjosey.com/Sout...ba-fatrac2.jpg Decent view though: http://cycling.mattandjosey.com/Sout...9/DSC05447.JPG Entering the town of North Bloomfield: http://cycling.mattandjosey.com/Sout...ba-fatrac5.jpg Down Missouri Bar trail to the river. This trail drops 1200 feet in one mile: http://cycling.mattandjosey.com/Sout...ba-fatrac9.jpg Then you can swim: http://cycling.mattandjosey.com/Sout...9/DSC05462.JPG And it's purty: http://cycling.mattandjosey.com/Sout...9/DSC05470.JPG |

Today. Five miles of road with a detour for a doc appointment followed by breakfast, and a coffee to go. By the time I arrived at the trailhead port-o-let, things were nicely primed. Met up with Pete to give him a tour of Huntington.

What kind of camera to you carry when you ride?

I just need to learn how to use them better. A couple of the shots above are not from my camera though. |
Your shots always look good. I wish I had something decent to take a picture of on the trails I ride to justify taking out my camera. But I don't.
