Did the local scene again, but I intended to loop the entire thing. Climbed up, went down, with my eyes set on the rest of the trails. Then my iPhone music stops and I get a call from my frantic wife saying that her car broke down. SH|TTERS!
So I jammed home, via the streets (BORING), passed a few roadies (I was hoping to get caught in their paceline for a little tow, but they were way too slow), got home, got dressed and spent the last 2 hours in 95 degree heat getting the thing drivable. Ugh... I think it's the alternator so we're bringing it in this week. Mo' money out da' doh!" Anyhow, here are some pics. SHILL!!! http://hphotos-snc1.fbcdn.net/hs241...._6969087_n.jpg My wife tells me my "arms are getting skinny". Next she's going to tell me my shoulders are too thin. http://hphotos-snc1.fbcdn.net/hs241...._1294602_n.jpg |

The last ride on the mtb for a while; since the wheel is dead. Shame, really. First and last ride on it. |
Saw them...like them...wish I could'a RAWK'D some trail today.

Thanks. It was fun. The berms are the best part. In the last picture the fence you see is there to block off a 2 1/2 foot drop which was fun before. Guess too many people died, or whatever. After you went off it you wouldn't have enough time to stop flying down into the non-intentional fire road, I assume made from people doing this.
Also not sure why the photos are different sizes. All taken with the same camera. On same settings. |

Alright, so I got out for a little bit today with my daughter on the Schwinn "tag'a'long" thingy and the rigid Raleigh.
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2...e/IMAG0213.jpg My wife and youngest were gonna hang out in the parking lot while we rode some singletrack. We were headed into the woods...and my youngest on her little tykebike with training wheels just started bombing down the main walking path and on to the singletrack yelling "Hey guys...wait for me!" http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2...e/IMAG0210.jpg Didn't last long...my wife had to pick her up a few times, then they headed back to the parking lot. |
Went for a short ride at dusk today after work to give my new knee/shin guards a test run(Race Face Rally DH, and they were great!). Great cool weather but had to cut it short because I was loosing light fast.

Dadgum Dion...you're a big freakin' dude. If I came across you on the trail...I'd yield:lol:

That reminds me. There was a kid, probably about 8, who was FLYING down the berms. I don't know how, trying to come up with something logical. I think it was the smaller bike? I was actually really impressed. Not just because of his age, but just because the speed on them was really high.

ya dion you are a big d00d, cool shillicious picture though.

What Ed said about the wet I have yet to find out. It turns to clay over here when the ground get's wet, so I'll probably be switching up for the winter. |

If my bike vocab skills still exist, thats a J-hop. . .Right?
Fun fun. |
|
Spun a 360 tailtap on the new Eastern Traildigger 26" in front of my house. That's the only riding I did today. bleh.
|
More exploring on some stuff very close to home. Figured out a route to pedal there, with minimal pavement, too!

throw it in the pack nice and cold from the fridge, and hope for the best. or if you are not going to be out long enough to drain the full 100oz. camelbak, fill it most of the way with ice water and place the beer next to it. or in it for really cold. |
Pulling semi-cold beer out of the pack doesn't work here in California, where the first day of fall had temps in the mid 100s. I envy your really nice 'east coast' weather.

Covered a 15 mile radius with my Traildigger. It was a lot of fun, but 34 yr. old men riding these types of bikes is just strange by myself. I was able to bunnyhop a 3ft pile of leaves which is braggable for my first day out. I don't know why they just didn't make two piles. Maybe they were thinking of me and my bunnyhop goals.
