Not yet. A little frost, but it's been pretty warm overall. I'm trying to enjoy it while I can, and put off sticking the studded tires on the singlespeed for a while.

Just got in from a nice afternoon ride. I'm really digging the rebuilt Nixon and the large Fire FR 2.4 tire. I'm running a lot less pressure in it than the highroller and getting some great grip. When it starts to turn loose it's not unnerving,it's seems to be predictable and easy to control.The Scott on the rear will start to drift just a little before the front so it makes a good set up.

Well, I got a call from B2B this morning b/c it was like 37deg and a million MPH East/West wind...he and his wife were trying to punk out on me but I peer-pressured them into riding.

We rode a new trail (to us) that was reviewed as having some technical climbs and descents with alot of rolling prairie trail. It didn't take too long to find the place, though the "e-directions" were a bit off. Are "e-directions" just called "erections"?

Anyways, we jumped right into the woods and everything seemed to have a bit of promise until "the hick" layed it over a couple times. (he's Gnarcore) Then we hit 2 short, semi-technical climbs in the first 1/4 mile and immediately reached the "rolling prairie" trail. Basically the whole rest of the trail was 12 miles of crossing pastures. Everything was soft, slow, and ridiculous. I was patiently waiting for more trail to show up, but it never did. Finally, we got sick of it and hit the gravel back to another 1mph climb up another God-forsaken pasture.

Over all it was a fun ride b/c I hadn't gotten to ride with the B2B's in a month or two, but the conditions could have been a little better IMO:D

Anyways, we decided to have a "winter forum ride" there. So y'all bring your crossers down to Holton KS population minus three and have a good ol' time at the 13mi Hillbilly singletrack trayols! You won't be disapointed:thumb::thumb:



The upside was that within the first 150yds, I rolled up in summadat good'ol Kansas soupie-poop that some silly mutt left behind. I also had a flat front tire when I got home...I must'a pinch-flatted on the Kansas Prairie (Gnarie). Or maybe a thorn, hehe.

The new bike was fun though...no denying that. I thought I was gonna die trying to shred the KSGnar with the "Epic-Duo", but the new Commode kept up alright and pimped out a couple of launch sites for kicks.

Just got back from a ride to, through, and from Papago Park and back with my new cross bike. I'm pleasantly exhausted. The thing handled well, though I really need to get myself some clipless pedals in the near future. There were bunches of other people on the trails too, hikers and bikers. The weather out here is perfect for riding.

The bike transitioned wonderfully from road to dirt and back again, and while I went over a couple of times when tires slipped, it did well. I just need to remember to lower the pressure in my tires next time.

I rode around in a car for a couple of hours. I can now say I've never driven an Automatic tranny'd car.

Edit: Oh, yeah, I finally put on my new used talas (thanks C-Law). Just rode it around my yard. I love it. So plush, but so stiff. Its like a pound lighter than my Dart3. I'm happy. But then I completely ran out of material on my pads, and now i have no front brake, but I'm happy because I'm getting juicy 5s up front. I'll probably get some J3s for out back later this winter.

Got out for a nice afternoon ride with Hambone and a Kid that was in our bike club a few years ago.It was about 58f sunny and breezy. The trails are covered in leaves so that makes it interesting.

I just went for 6ish miles, it was dark out, I only had one light, it was windy, 35 degrees F, and the trail was covered in leaves. But it was fun.

6'ish miles...shortened LRT loop?

I live in KC, i'm not driving 45 minutes each way to ride 45 minutes. SMP.

SMP is a fun little place...I go there sometimes when I visit my friends in Olathe.

Yeah, it's more fun if you don't ride 40ish miles a week there.

I was able to get out on a great day with the Hambone for a fun ride on some fast flowy trails in DuPont St Forest. The Girlscout is hurting from B-Ball,he's been practicing with varsity and JV so he's wimping out on us.We did snagg a few pics........

The ultra cool '66 on Ridgeline trail. I would like all of the riders that have some fashion sense to pay close attention. Grey long sleve jersey goes with grey accent Fox helmet.Orange accents on jersey tie the bike into the outfit and black shorts match up with the trim on the Vans.....I look good.

Aside from all the gay talk about his outfit, I was really impressed with how 66 had his rebound tuned to perfection. That made all the difference in his riding. That rebound was really dialed in.

If you’re ever in SoCal, I recommend riding out to where they filmed MASH years ago. Good single track out there.

You DO look good...all about the outfit coordination.

And berms are fun...I had a bit of an incident with berms this weekend on one of our local shuttle mountains. One trail is fast but extremely tight through trees...in some spots it's rather interesting with 29-30 inch wide bars. Was pinning it on a series of three small berms, laid the bike over more in each berm until the last one where I leaned it over so much that the pedal caught the remainder of a stump that was cut off just at ground level in the apex of the berm, the bike bucked, and I got shot forward. I shoulder tackled a tree but unfortunately, the tree won. So now I am out for 4 weeks with a 2nd degree sprain of my right shoulder AC ligament.

The funny thing is...despite crashing, I'm still pumped at how fast I was going through that section!

Yeah, with this month tacked on, that makes four months I've been out this year. I guess I did manage some trail and road riding with the cast earlier in the year so it's not quite that long.

Another short one today. Have tomorrow and Friday off, and hope to get in some longer ride/shake down time. Still awaiting the RP23 for the rear, then it's done. Shim to run my Gravity Dropper post showed up last week.

Totem Solo Air lowered down to 160mm travel is #%^@ing stiff as hell. Very, very nice, and a half pound less than the Domain coil. Ran anywhere from 40-60 psi, and have settled on 45psi with four click of high and low speed compression each. That got me ~130mm into the travel on the largest drop of the day, a smooth bit just over 4' to smooth transition. Running right around 30mm sag.

The bike rocks. Very fun, easy to get the front up, very flickable for my kinda' trails and the little trialsy moves here and there. Stiffer in the back and than the Bullit clone frame was, by far. The longer wheelbase and the stiffness: bike easily handles plowing into stuff very well if I'm not feeling like being smooth with line choices. I'm more of a finesse rider than a plow rider, but certainly have plenty of hack moments. The longer TT length than I've beenriding has not been an adjustment to get used to at all, nor the longer wheelbase. Tight, slow speed cornering doesn't seem to be hampered.
