Hit up 26 for a awesome day. It was one of the best days Ive ever had on a bike. A friend was up from Fla and we met some new folka too.Toooo many DH runs to count.

Had a family reunion today. Did manage to get in 3 solo miles on a paddle boat though, which I feel like equates to about 18 miles on the dirt.

We biked 100k today on mountain bikes with nobby tires... our personal best distance and our first metric century. I think we're looking forward to getting real road bikes now! :)

Yesterday and today, a couple shots from two small spots nearby that I'd not been to yet. Not a ton of trail, but some good stuff, and did I mention they are close by?

"Natural" built stuff, rather than pallets would be my preference, but then again, I didn't build the trail.

These boards were most likely picked from some of the trash piles dumped around the area. The place isn't technically legit to ride as fas as I know, but the land managers don't give a rats ass about a bit of trail in comparison to the crap that gets dumped into the woods and water nearby. We kinda' get a pass. Some of the trail area is apparantly cleaner now than before it had trails built.

Great ride today. Went with my mom and a friend to Mohican State park. My friend and I rode the trail and my mom went hiking Rode 23 miles exactly on the first day and 5ish on the second day (day 2 at Mohican wilderness). My friend crashed twice (once face first at 20 mph and the other time he tripped walking his bike) and I crashed twice (once going off a ramp, and once I locked up my front and hit a tree)

I'm out of town this week and found some unimproved abandoned rails that are slated to be part of the paved trail program from Toledo to Montpelier (near Indiana border) at some point in the future. It's the north fork of the Wabash Cannonball Trail.

It's been a great way to stay out of the hotel fitness center and a nice change of pace from the steady diet of paved trails I've been doing recently.

Glad I threw my bike on the rack!

Tonight I went for a ride on the road and pedaled through remnants of the Great Black Swamp.

If you guys ever want a nice MTB trip, check out Mohican state park (25 miles of trail, but part was closed). The trailhead is literally at the entrance of the camp ground (exactly 1 mile from our camp site) and the trail ends at the opposite end of the camp ground (maybe .5 miles from our site). A bit tecky with 2+ mile steep climbs (crazy for Ohio) but I got the impression that Mohican SP is less tecky than Ceaser's. (Just dont confuse Mohican SP with the Wilderness, which was our second day ride and had a crazy steep 1+ mile climb that you have to ride to believe, followed by more climbing, followed by endo inducing downhills, which is even more unbelievable for Ohio)

I also found out that there's a specific biking trail being built somewhere near the city. Sounds intriguing, although I feel intimidated by the hardcore bikers. :p

Is that your normal seat hight? Looks like you are living on the edge. That could get painful :twitchy:

Looks like nice surroundings and you are lucky to live near somewhere to ride. Also, dont be intimidated. Were not THAT bad.

I haven't really experimented enough with it, to be honest.

Just went to John Bryian SP with my dad. I now have a big ego. Please feel free to shrink it ;). 10.5 mph average over the course of 9.5 miles, including time spent messing around at some jumps. Only bad thing is that I think I hurt a tree with my pinky ;) (chunk of the tree missing, although so is part of my pinky and some paint off of my new FR-5 levers)

Had a great day today, biked around a lake which took me an hour and a half mostly on horse trails. Up down up down. ;) Nothing tricky, except avoiding big sharp rocks on the ground and a stupid motorcross biker who seemed to deliberately try to speed past me as close as possible.

I'm not sure I want to experience hurting a tree with my pinky. :eek:

I have had the exact same thing happen to me on a jeep road in Colorado; Dumb***** on a Dirt bike trying to teach me a "lesson". :mad: Atleast my pinky won (mostly) Edit: (kinda) Edit Edit: (the tree kicked my arse)

Found some urban type stuff (ie. stairs, loading dock things, odd terraced parking lots) close to my house. Ill get some pics of the places soon.

Teeter is in a very small local spot with a few miles of twisty trail. A bunch of other very well built stuntry things, but the place is way overgrown and little ridden. Odd, considering how much work put in by whomever built the stuff. I plan to go and ride the trails back into shape a bit.

STIL. Really. Short grunt of a climb to get around to the top, then some trialsy hopping moves to get to the line down this thing. Sshort but fun.

Another side option with a tight right hander followed by some trialsy moves to get up top. Droppable, but depending on where said trialsy moves leave you lined up, the ramp is there. About an 8" gap from the wall to the ramp - so long as you don't stuff your front wheel in there, it's good. Followed up by a small 3' drop that puts you right back on the main trail.

This one is at the end of a narrow slot canyon with some chunky rocks to clear. Come out with enough speed and launch the ramped up tree.

Some hauling ass on some tight and twisty smooth stuff brings you to more. A line of four jump/drops that take you down to the creek running through the area. By the time I got to there today, that cold creek water felt damn nice.

Nice, I miss the New England area.
