Does anyone know if it is possible to buy the frame only for this bike - NEW?

i think you can only buy the s-works version of the frame, which is very expensive

edit: nevermind, i was thinking of the Stumpjumper FSR. im not sure about the FSR XC, but the specialized website doesnt have the frame itself listed

Yeah - that's what I thought. Probably shouldn't be spending any more money on bike stuff for a while anyway.

It's possible but I think you're a bit too late. Usually at the end of the model year some bike companies will clear out their stock of warranty replacement frames by making sending out a list of what's availiable to their distribution agents. Usually this list is only made availiable to the LBS employees, but if you're in tight with your local owner / manager (like drinkin' buddies tight) you may be able to get them to order one of these frames.
I don't know if this is the case with Specialized, but if you're lucky it may work out
