I like too many bikes. I've been looking at the Jamis XLT 3.0, looks like a nice rig. I can't go past the 06 Specialized Enduro Pro though

Might post some more pics up of some more rigs I like later.

While I love my K2 OzM, the Mantis Screaming V was one bike I highly covetted but never had the pleasure of owning.

Made in 1996, it was one of the first in a short list of thermoplastic CF bikes like my Oz. Designed by Richard Cunningham who also designed the Nishiki Alien and made in very limited numbers by his company, Mantis, it was quite a rare bike that came from a company reknowned for very high performance frames.

What is new about it? Frame looks just like the one I had three years ago.

They changed the location of the disc brake mounts.

Guess I would have to see the other side to notice the change. What was the reason for the change? I didn't have any problems running discs with the older design.

This is my favourite. Her name is Ermintrude (because she's a big fat cow), and although she is very reluctant to go up the hills, she really does go for it on the descent.

Beagy

p.s. please don't tell her, but I'm busy building a new bike, an Orange P7 to replace my ageing Orange Evo O2 hardtail. I have a strong feeling that it may become, "The New Best Thing"

I know what you mean. I also have a few favourites in the hardtail and rigid categories. They also include Richard Cunningham designed bikes such as the Mantis Flying V.

And the Nishiki Alien ACX.

I myself had the all-cromoly version of the Alien called the Ariel.

The Ariel pictured above isn't mine. I had given away mine to my brother a while ago. Someone contacted me by email and told me that I was the inspiration for him seeking out one. He then sent me a picture of his bike which is the exact same year, model and colour as mine was.

I have the Aluminum version and I love it. Just couldn't justify the carbon since I don't race.
