Differences between an 01 Stumpy and newer
I am looking at some used bikes. Is the 20001 Stumpjumper the equivalent of the more recent ones in terms of frame quality? The bike has a SID Hydra Air fork. Is it a nice fork compared to the FOX that the new ones come with? Thanks, Bob.

The 2001 SIDs were known to be flexy forks, not nearly as stiff as a new Fox. They are great race forks for lighter riders however that is their limit. They are by no means an "all-mountain" fork.

The old Stumps were significantly lighter IIRC. If you're not a heavy person or a hard rider, I'd say it's worth considering the '01.
