I know I'm a hater. I have an 07 Comp Disc in Ano Silver. But, Mango? I saw that color on an international RH Pro. I'm glad I didn't wait for a Pro. It's ugly. Specialized is hit or miss on color.

hmm you said you would stick an xtr drivetrain on it, what happened?

I see it's still not done yet... looking at the handlebars and drivetrain... do you even have tubes yet? or are you going tubeless with stan's?

What's up with putting higher end components on a rockhopper frame. Looks nice though :D

When does Specialized update their website???

My local LBS says that the 07's should start hitting the stores in the next couple of weeks...

I am very eager to pull the trigger on either a 07 RH Comp Disk or a RH Pro myself...I'm getting the RH womens version for my wife also...I would probably change the tires to a more hybrid tread like the Specialized Crossroads or Rythm since I will use it mostly for riding around the park for excercise, and the occasional single track runs on weekends...

I wonder what other color schemes they will come out with...

Take care,

Nestor

I was going to go xtr but I want to convert my old bike to 9 speed anyway so in the interest of getting it done sooner I decided to put xt on it and upgrade this one and the old one one piece at a time later. I want to ride it lol. I dont have the shifters or the brake handles yet and I am thinking of going tubeless...anyone here go tubeless? how is it? As far as high end components on a rockhopper? I like the frame alot. Feels good to me so why not?

Minesbroken 08-24-06 06:22 AM

To be honest I was going to go with tubes, And I had tubes ( I keep a bunch of extras) but these rims take presta valves not shraeder. So that makes me think about going tubeless also. The drivetrain was too expensive to buy all at once for me, It was all I could do just to afford what I got lol. I will buy the xtr piece by piece and put the old pieces on my old bike. I even went with bb5's instead of 7's but I can upgrade that later too. All in all the pieces I wouldnt want to buy again are good. The reba race is nice cane creek headset. s-works wide boy bars I was looking at the lX xt and xtr cranks and for the life of me after looking at them and riding different bikes with them on there I couldnt tell the damn difference so I went with the lx. still has hollowtech. but the drivetrain is all xt down to the cassette. It should ride pretty nice. Bikes with these kind of components go for how much already put together? about 1500 to 3000 depending on the frame. I held several different frames in my hands and the rockhopper was the lightest and felt the best to me....Yeti trek cannondale...I chose rockhoppa.

What other color does the 07 Comp Disc come in besides silver?

Flak 08-24-06 10:42 AM

Nice minesbroken.

If it were mine, id remove some of the spacers on the headset and run a riser bar. Would give it a better looking profile without sacrificing riding position, especially considering the riser like sweep on that flar bar.

Your trails must be rough to run such a low psi in those tires too :p

jiiiim 08-24-06 10:59 AM

negative psi?

crod2005 08-24-06 04:00 PM

The 07 Rockhopper Comp also comes in candy apple red. I didn't like the color so I got the silver. I don't know what's up with Specialized. The Pro comes in mango. What's up with all the fruity colors?

Hmmmm... I bought the Specialized 07 base model. Should i return it for a comp? Its my first bike since I was a kid. Gonna use it mainly to commute just over six miles each way, and some occasional off road trails.

I can prob still take my bike back

thanks for the input!

Minesbroken 08-24-06 06:36 PM

The forks have positive and negative psi hehe good absorption ;)

Nestor Z. 08-24-06 07:05 PM

Pulled the trigger this afternoon and purchased a 07 RockHopper Pro Disk 19" in MANGO...The salesperson told me that it won't be in for another week or two because they are currently on B/O....I also picked up a 07 HardRock Sport for my wife in Satin Navy Blue with silver accents/stripes...

I really dig the outrageous colors...Yellow, orange, radical blue...They all stand out to me more than traditional colors...

Looking through the 07 catalogue, there are some interesting color combinations coming out in 07...Especially for the EPIC line...Funky checkers??? Stumpjumpers top of the line is bright yellow if I'm not mistaken...Nice!!!

Can't wait to get my bike!!! :D :p :D

Take care,

Nestor

Lowest I could find was $967 including tax, but when I found out I would have to wait a couple of weeks I jumped on another bike. Partly out of desperation for a bike before labor day weekend, as I sold my current mountain bike a couple days ago.

Chris

$989.00 plus tax. N/C freight. I also get 1 year of free maintainence on any bike that I own.
