Lol ya that does suck.

I've been thinking about selling my sxt and p3 frame to get a Bottlerocket, but I guess that would be saving money. Also I noticed on the site that they now approved using a 2" stroke for 5" of travel on the Bottlerocket.

More like its been repalced. The bottle rocket is now the fr and the preston is a burly trail bike. The pivot move is likely to reduce pedal induced bob and make a stiffer ride.

2006 Bottlerocket and Preston were soooo similar, only a small difference in geometry. It would make for a very difficult sale having 2 virtually identical bikes.

yeah that was pretty much what I though they were going to do. And did the dirtbag get a bit smaller? It doesnt look as beefy as the 05 model?

How are the Rockshox Domain 318? Becuase I might throw in the extra $500 instead of the Rocky Switch?

hey maelstrom, i just read this at the mtbr forum and thought you might like to read it too:

the redesigned Dirtbag looks sick.

redesigned slacker TT, smaller seat tube, lighter frame overall (by almost 2 pounds!), redesigned head gusset, 1,5" headtube...

i've only had my '06 Dirtbag a few months, and now this comes out! No fair!
wonder if Transition does some kind of a trade-up thing
You should give them a call...

I've read (In the huge transition thread) that one or two guys have traded in thier frames... I'm not sure for how much though.

Worth a shot IMO
anyway, thought you might like to know. sure is worth a shot.

I have another question about the transition dirtbag.

The Rockshox domain is 1.125, is that the fork tube width? If so, would'nt that be the only fork to fit that bike?

Bikes: old school Giant Attraction MTB (where it all started),old school Schwinn High Plains MTB (XC and long ride duty), Mosh DJ3 (BMX basher), and Trek Bruiser 1 (freeride and full of mods and still growing)

the complete PrestonFR will run you about $2500

the DirtBag has a 1.5" headtube, therefore with the Domain they use a headtube reducer in order to incorporate that fork into the mix. SO, you could use any 1 1/8" (1.125") fork on the DirtBag as long as you use a headtube reducer.
