this may be a stupid question...but, can anyone please tell me whats the main difference between the Chumba XCL and Jamis Dakar XLT 3.0 (2005 or 2006 models). and I am talking about the frame, shock and suspension design.

anyone.

thanks.

From a couple searches, it looks like the Dakar is a 4-bar linkage. The XCL is a 4-bar with a Horst Link (the pivot in front of and below the rear dropout). The shocks were different on different builds, but I believe the rp23 wasn't offered in 2005. As for the frame I'd have to ride a dakar, but the Chumba is pretty beefy and stiff.
