Oh back to platforms - still looks good. Why the change and what pedals are they?

Changed back to platforms for the winter, gives me the ability to get a bit more time in on the trails when I have the time to get a trail ride in. Won't be using it as much this winter as I solely ride the fixed gear during the winter months. The pedals are Speedplay Drilliums.

Easier to get a ride in on the fixed gear when you only have time to get an hour's worth of riding in 5 days a week, plus it keeps me from burning out on the mtb mid season.

Nice attitude you have there. Little rings are for steep climbs.

The team manager has the alma 29 completely pimped out. Crossmax 29, fox f29, carbon cranks, bar, stem, seatpost, full x0, carbon time pedals. weighs 22lbs
are you gone get the regular version or the Absalon version?

sorry, should have inserted more little winky faces I constantly forget that the internet does not transmit voice inflection and facial expression. I think its the little camera on the top of my computer that gets me confused.

sounds sweet. I almost went with the 29er.

Normal color, but the whole team is, I don't get to chose. I'm not sure how I feel about rolling around with worlds stripes on my bike when I've never won a world title. Actually, I am sure, and I think its as stupid as wearing a maillot jaune on a road bike.

I like it bc the gloss white with gold highlights. Im want a fs as my next frame so I can have a hardtail for the ultra smooth stuff and fs for really rough courses

that's a good bike bike but...

1. please change the saddle - a comfortable saddle does not need all the extra padding
2. change the pedals - I'd recommend clipless (Time, every time!) but you may want to stick with platforms?
3. unless the kick stand stays up all the time on the trail I'd remove it - it may be just me but I've never had a kickstand that didn't flip down going over a bump or jump.

gripshift.

It'll be run about 25% of the time as a singlespeed w/chain tensioner and rigid fork. Should be around 17lbs in that configuration.

Bikes: BMC SL01, XtC, Rhythm GX and a frankenstein avalanche 2.0

Almas are nice, we have an absalon edition sitting in the window, but overpriced. They are an amazing frame but for the same retail, you can get an anthem 01 over here with full XT and fox F100RL, whereas the alma comes with recon and crap everything. Needless to say, I went Anthem. No regrets. Good luck with the build. Consider Manitou MRD forks though?
