Tyre fitting problem! Help!?
Folllowing an inner tube repair I am having a real problem aligning my tyre true with the rim - tried everything I can think of - applying washing-up liquid, waggling and manipulating tyre, pumping up to a high pressure etc etc!
The details: Trek 8500; 26" Bontrager Race Disc 'tubeless' rim with original Jones AC-X 26 x 2.2 (52/54) ... and original inner tube - from new!
Rotating the wheel shows the tyre to be 'twisted' on the rim - evidenced by the irregular gap between tyre mould line and rim edge
Whatever I seem to do, the tyre 'bead' will not locate up and onto the 'ledge' at the side of the rim all the way round - ie it won't 'engage' at a couple of places for about a foot (300mm) at one side and again on the other but in a different area?
Any advice most gratefully received ...

However, what you are doing seems correct. I assume the washing up liquid is soap and should have the same effect as the Tioga bead wax. This was discussed a few weeks ago on either this or the Bicycle Mechanics forum - you might want to search on something like "Bontrager", or "bead wax". I participated in the last discussion along with probably a dozen posters, including Sheldon Brown.
