Indeed.

Oh, and to answer the OPs actual question: The only race I get real jitters for these days is Nationals. Deep breaths, positive thoughts, and visualization work for me. I only need to visualize the start, because after that something else takes over (no idea what that something else is, but it sure isn't my brain!). Key is to keep a balance between a nice little adrenaline rush, and staying calm enough that you aren't wasting energy.

But I ride bikes faster than both of you. In fact, I get payed to ride my bike. Beat that, you rich feckers.
Boulder isn't cheap, eh?
I thought about going out there, but in the end it wasn't worth the extra 15-20k a year to have the rockies and lots of *****in' snowboarding and to live in a bike mecca. But it seems you're doing pretty good for yourself.

Between the picture of the ebay power sellers certificate and the screen capture of a savings account this thread has reached new heights. Seriously. Keep up the good work. We need more humor like this during the writers strike.

Wow you have $15,000 canadian! You can pay for one semester! Out of 8

And that's if you go to a relatively cheap school in the US. And if you graduate in 4 years.

This thread has hit a new level of awesomeness The battle of the parental-supported highschoolers!

I also demand abercrombie proof. And we need a quick screen shot of crimson's bank account, just for good measure.

I thought I'd stumbled on a Foo thread; but then there was talk of welding and 351Ws and I knew I was in good company

Got a 351 (Windsor, alas) in my F150. Nice, but thirsty, little rig. What's most of your welding work, WTP? MIG, I presume? Have you run a TIG setup?

Most fun and interesting welding challenge I had was back when I was a kid - - gas-welding exhaust tubing bends to ¼" plate; helped a friend build a tunnel ram base and headers for an obsolete block.

MIG and Stick. I have run TIG before, but I still don't have it down.

Right now I'm learning to wire feed aluminum.

Nice. I never got a chance to run TIG; but figured my steady hand with a gas torch would do me in good stead. I'm kinda rusty now, though

When I went to college, I missed metals so bad I signed up one semester for an Ag Mech class that had a machine shop/welding component just so I could keep my hand in it. Actually had to pass a vertical welding test using horizontal (6013) rod - - masochistic prof.

Fortunately, my stick skillz are still with me since I had to rebuild the snow plow on my truck last weekend. Stay with it; even if isn't your lifelong profession, it'll be something you carry with you your whole life (plus it makes you pretty popular in the 'hood.)
