Wasn't hamfisted, that was off the fixed gear, and nothing was overtightened. Showed it to one of the other mechanics at the lbs I work at and they agreed that it was an odd part to break.

I went out on a great after work ride today. I hit DuPont and rode one of Gastros favesetes trails,Mine Mtn. It was great having a ton of sweet trail to myself. It was like the mp3 player was in tune with my ride. I hit the steep climb om Mine Mtn just as "We are the Champs" came on, The while pinnin' it off the other side it was "I like Dirt" by the Peppers. I hit another mellow trail to "London Calling" by the Clash(one of my all time faves). As I crused the gravel rd back to the parking lot I was boppin' to "Road Trippin'" by the Peppers. Goooooood times.

They eat EVERYTHING - - raspberries, apple trees, my little blue spruces (!), my wife's flowers - - and crap all over my yard. Between them and the bands of delinquent turkeys, I think it's time I bought a hunting license and deer and turkey tags again. Gotta dig out the 30-30, swab it through with some Hoppe's and sight it back in I guess.

The buds are pretty tender but you know that's gotta be tough on the snout.

I don't mind deer eating anything, or rabbits, or any other animal. The way I see it, we are encroaching, they are surviving.

Just move into the city and rent an apartment, no deer there

Had a deer pretty much ruin two sections of fence Tuesday night.

Not to mention that some jackass is probably riding around on my race wheelset that were stolen from my car today(wednesday).

I presume Australian Post runs much like Canada Post? - - sort of "it gets there when it gets there"? I marvel at how post in the 'colonies' still seems to run on the lah-dee-dah European standards of performance.

BTW, my Cougars are playing in Charlotte, NC tonight in the Sweet 16; GO COUGS! I'm not even going to dream to imagine the possibility of an upset. I just hope they show themselves worthy and don't get totally drubbed out of there. I DO think it's a bit unfair that UNC gets a 'home' game. No matter how it goes tonight, though, I'm proud of them and it's a moment I've been waiting 40 years to see.

Tough one last night Dminor, too bad. I do not like UNC. Don't know why, but I'm a Duke fan.

Smashy, sorry to hear about the wheels, that sucks. Maybe the idiot will try and sell them on craigslist or ebay and you can get them back.

I ship a lot of stuff out of Canada all over the world with my little Ebay experiment. This is my experience:
  • shipping within Canada is lightening fast. A package will take at most 4 days to cross the continent. Stuff to Ontario takes 2 days. Stuff within Quebec arrives the day after.
  • shipping to the US is a crap shoot. I have had packages shipped that have arrived as quickly as 4 days or take as long as 3 weeks. I even have extreme cases like that with packages to California, which is fairly far from me. What I've heard is that Canada Post is very quick to get the stuff out of the country so I'm guessing there is a huge variable within the US what with the different hubs and stuff.
  • shipping to Europe can be quick but their customs offices can and will sit on packages if they feel like it. By fairly quick I mean that packages will arrive in about 7-10 days but if they have a-hole customs offices they will hold onto a package for weeks. I once shipped a package to Turkey that clearly showed that it arrived in the country in a reasonable time but that it was then held in customs for over 2 weeks.
  • I get a lot of Australian customers and there is something that just works between Canada Post and Australia Post because packages consistently arrive in about a week. Given the distance from Canada to Australia I am impressed especially after comparing with shipments that take on average longer to places like Florida and Colorado.

If you keep up with this type of nonsense posting, this thread may end up getting moved to P&R.

Thanks for the sympathy (even when it's feigned) guys. The Cougs can hold their heads high. Yes they got beat - - and decisively - - but they were able to dictate the tempo of the game after all and not let UNC totally run away with it and their defense was good . . . just not enough. For that they should be proud.

Two other consolations: Pac 10 is still in it; and we don't have to hear the endless blah, blah, gush, gush about either Duke OR UConn this year.

santiago - - they must move things better from your part of the country; do they expedite it if it's addressed in French? I can't get my magazine mailed from Calgary to eastern BC within a week's time frequently.

When things go wrong, they go wrong in bunches.

Today broke the rear deraillieur on the fisher and put my wallet through the wash.
