The guys I ride with are francophone so it's probably one of them you heard.

Well that's no fun then...because if you were more Quebequois, 66 and the gang would REALLY enjoy it! ;)

Well, I can easily fake the accent given that I've lived around it my whole life, so I'll be sure to give it my best.

never 02-13-08 09:02 PM

Sweet!

"Heritage not Hate" is a bumper sticker, not something I'm claiming. Trust me, I have plenty of hate.

never 02-14-08 12:07 PM

Well you do seem like a rather hate-filled individual...kind of like 66.

This from the guy in Australia!

The temp doesn't bother me, it's the ice. We had a pretty good storm this week: 4-6" of snow followed by freezing rain and then a little more snow that night. Yesterday was warm so there was a decent melt. Today is cold, so now all the snow is covered by a nice thick layer of ice and the snow underneath is too deep to ride through. Sucks because there's not a cloud in the sky. If I tried going out today I'd break through the ice and not be able to move. I'm done with winter.

BFG 02-16-08 09:00 AM

Haha fair call. Im only sweating lightly at the moment - its getting cold over here!!

Im pretty good with cold weather, ive ridden in it enough. Got caught out in the rain once to find my favourite trail becomes super tacky in the wet, making for surprisingly faster, or they felt faster, runs.

Mid summer at present. Woohoo.

We've been haviong some decent weather here so winter has been OK for the last week or so.

So since this is the general thread.....

I was watching an auction last night for a gravity dropper. Well actually I was out so I wasn't watching, but I put in a bid of 190 and I lost. Oh well.

Did a little searching today and came across this:

Sette from pricepoint. Damn inexpensive too. I couldn't find any reviews on it, so I'm thinking it's new this year? Anyway, think I'll pick it up.

mtnbiker66 02-17-08 12:06 PM

Thats cool. I wonder how hard it would be to hit that lever by mistake?

rankin116 02-17-08 02:43 PM

It's supposed to be under the nose of the saddle, so I would think it would be pretty tough to do unless you mean to.

I did read a little on some website saying if your saddle has a plastic or cloth cover around the rails, the lever might not have enough room to travel the distance it needs to engage the mechanism.

Dannihilator 02-17-08 07:57 PM

You guys have your general MTB Thread.

Cheeto 02-17-08 08:38 PM

At that price point, it's definately worth looking into!
