The new commuter. Went for a little cruise around the neighborhood yesterday to find that it handles remarkably like a DH bike. It's resprung, regeared, and I'm getting ready to rejet the carb and some perform some other tweaks to get her running tip top.

Awesome, Keeping in the Dukes of hazzard color scheme too! Second gear hole shots, should dig a nice trench for buried cable lines. |
Does anyone else keep their mountain bike cleaner than their road bike??
|
Gastro should go with slicks for that supermoto look.

I just got in from a good ride on My rigid Iron Horse. It had a couple of good climbs and I can ride it from home. The Girlscout was on a .......ummm...road bike. I'm soooo ashamed.

can i ask probably a typical question potentially in the wrong place?
i'm hoping posting this here will mean it can get lost if it's not the right question. I'm lookin for a new bike, have narrowed it down to two and now am stuck. I can't find reviews on one of the bikes, so am not sure how good it is. Would you guys please give me your opinion, if faced with these options, which of these hardtails you'd go for? I'm 5-10 around 90kg and am looking to cycle to work sometimes but also mess about at weekends with a little offroading (nothing too severe).
BeOne Aspire 1.0 2007 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=14963 vs. Mongoose Tyax Super 2008 http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/pr...uper_Bike_2008 (My main concerns are, should i compromise and go for mech. discs to get the beone as the forks and gearset are better - and i trust beone more than mongoose - or am I wrong in that assumption?) Thanks Paul |
p.s
you'll note i'm a newbie so if that's any excuse why i'm posting this here (if i'm wrong too) i'll take it.

Thanks Paul You've provided links to what appear to be online retailers. I've personally bought stuff from Chain Reaction Cycles in the past and am not aware of them having any retail outlets. What this means is that you are taking a chance buying a bike online without actually sitting on it. Have you ruled out visiting local bike shops to see the various offerings at the same price point from the likes of Trek, Specialized, Kona, etc? In your situation that would be the first thing I'd look to do. You're more likely to find a bike you'll be very happy with this way. |
We left the bikes at home this weekend. We packed up the packs and headed into the backcountry for some fun. Hambone got a new member to his family and we needed to break him in the right way, so Rex was off for his first camping trip.
We were able to make fire....... http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...inkbeds024.jpg Girlscout didn't want to get out his camping hammok http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...inkbeds044.jpg Sara was there to give the new Hambone a few tips in the great outdoors.... http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...inkbeds011.jpg Hambone got Rex from a German Shepard rescue shelter.Rex is gonna fit right in..... http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...inkbeds046.jpg |
Hey cool!
I've always been a fan of the Sheperds. |
