That it is.

ca7erham 06-10-09 12:15 PM

Something just got here. . .

yellowjeep 06-10-09 12:56 PM

Well what the hell is it?

ca7erham 06-10-09 01:43 PM

Well, it says Columbus Serum Company, Greensville S.C.

Oh, wait. Thats for my mom's company. Mine says lots of stuff on it. I dont want to bore you with that.

yellowjeep 06-10-09 02:11 PM

New frame?

ca7erham 06-10-09 03:19 PM

Well, with out going into any details, I had to get some headset cups pressed and I have a seat tube that measures 16.5 inches. . .

yellowjeep 06-10-09 07:58 PM

I think I know

This place is far too cryptic sometimes. Did you go with a DJ rig...or are you just short?

BTW...get yourself a big piece of All Thread, 2 fender washers, and 3 big nutz. Home made headset press. I've done 4 Komodo's and an XLT this way.

Yeah, I was actually going to do that, but I needed to get some tubes anyways, so I just took the bike along. LBS charged $1.50 for it.

Once I get everything together, I'll post it up. But the RD hanger I was sent with the frame is broken, so I need to call, but other than that. . . Neon green zip ties on a black frame looks sweet. (I want to run full length cable housing, so I had to zip tie the housing on because the frame was not designed for it, yellowjeep, you should know what I'm talking about. . .)

ca7erham 06-17-09 08:37 PM

Well, I may or may not have just finished building up the frame that I may have gotten. If I did in fact get this hypothetical piece of equipment, the chainstays would be quite short and make the bike super snappy in comparison to my Can-o-ale not so sober handling characteristics. If any of this happened at all, I would get pictures, and maybe videos of it floating in the air with someone on the back.

Dannihilator 06-17-09 08:39 PM

Wow rain again. It hasn't rained since Sunday night.

ca7erham 06-18-09 07:24 AM

We had what was probably the same rain two days ago. The heaviest part of the storm hit as a friend and I were riding the fastest rollercoster at King's Island (80mph). In the very front.

ed 06-18-09 10:24 AM

Owwwy.

Dannihilator 06-18-09 07:09 PM

ouch.

70 miles on the fixed gear today due to the weather.

ca7erham 06-18-09 07:36 PM

Hey, is there any way to easily convert to fixie with one wheel, but still be able to use gears on another (as in using the RD as a tensioner).

Well, I couldnt get any good video today, but I love that frame. I can actually hold a manual for longer than 5 feet now. And from a track stand, I can pull up (without pedaling) and stay on the rear wheel for a few seconds. And, from almost any speed, I can manual at least the wheel base of the bike, which means manualing off of drops is really easy.

Dannihilator 06-18-09 08:35 PM

There's flip flop hubs, but you'd likely need a bike with horizontal drops to use it.

ca7erham 06-19-09 06:57 AM

I think I'll just pedal all the time. Sounds a lot cheaper :)

yellowjeep 06-19-09 09:36 AM

Either way you are going to need a bike with horizontal drop outs to get chain tension. Its generally accepted that a tensioner is not a good idea for a fixed gear (see how I didn't say fixie). A flipfop rear wheel is pretty cheep, you can find complete wheelsets for around 100 bucks.

Anyway

Where are the pictures of the new ride?

TwinCam 06-20-09 03:53 PM

Anyone know where to get white brothers stickers for one of those exotic carbon forks?

ca7erham 06-23-09 12:00 AM

Not MTB, but I was near a place that MTBing was available. Not sure if you can see these :
