Bikes: 2011 SE Old Man Flyer.

If it's a fair LBS they'll quickly take a spoke wrench to it and make it decent again.

Wow, you preety much got ripped off. I hope you dint paid alot for that bike.

If a bad thing happened doing a simple thing, then just imagine when you jump 5 feet or more in the air. ouch.

Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

I wouldn't say that he got ripped off. He got a cheaper bike that wasn't designed for what he is using it for. The wheel probably started to get bad way before this event.

Learn to true wheels. Mountain bikers will have wheels go out of true, and paying 20 bucks every time you hit a root wrong and knock the wheel out of true sucks. Buy a GOOD QUALITY spoke wrench, and see if the mechanic will give you a crash course in wheel truing. If hes not a super ******bag, (and you're not either) he probably will.

Just got back from my LBS, he fixed it free of charge but didn't seem to happy about it. Said my frame was bent! I HAVE NO CLUE HOW! I havn't done anything at all to bend a frame. But he re-trued my frame also, It's better than what it was, but not 100%....

Thats nuckin futs, how do you bend a frame so quickly? You need a grossly overbuilt 11ty billion inch XFR bike to get the mail, it seems.

IDK, I might of done the damage when I was riding at Dosset... (spelling) And maybe the curb just finished it off..
IDK!

Over the next year or two, I guess I'll get better, learn more, and then get a decent bike...
Until College gets in the way.
I rode it around the block and it seems to work ok. I'll just have to watch it.
1 month and and 12 days... I've bent a frame.... go me.... -_-

Anyway! I'm starting to look into all-mountain bikes they seem to fit the catagory of what I want to do.
It'll be a while though... a long while.

Is it your frame that was bent or the derailleur hanger? If it was the hanger then it is very believable that he just bent it back.

Lol, I take road bikes off curbs no problems.

Are you getting out of the saddle properly when dropping the curb? Something is not right here.

I wouldn't call a curb rider error, but to each his own.

I know how to get off a curb for christs sake!
I did nothing wrong.

As for the frame thing he took these tools and pushed on them until they re-alligned.

The back of the bike,
He stuck two tools where the tire axel would of gone, and he push and pulled until they were straight, or re-alligned.
So I guess I somehow twisted the back a little bit...
Kind of depressing.

I'm saving up for a bike in the 500-800 range now, starting to look around and set my goal for the bike i want.

Im 1/8 of the way to reachin 800 bucks... yay....

Your revolution is over, Mr. Lebowski. Condolences. The bums lost. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir.

lol....nothing like cold setting aluminum!...lol

In my opinion, if you were seriously JRA and your ***** got bent, you should be provided a new frame.

lol....srsly..

your moms boyfriend didn't take it out for a joyride while you were sleeping and crash did he? lol

I would ask....srsly lol
