In my opinion, if you were seriously JRA and your ***** got bent, you should be provided a new frame.

lol....srsly..

your moms boyfriend didn't take it out for a joyride while you were sleeping and crash did he? lol

I would ask....srsly lol

Shes merried to my dad, who happens to be in the middle east for a year.
Yea, I think I should get a whole new bike, everythings breaking. The rim, the seat is stripped, even though I havnt touched it, and now the frame.

to the above, NO he didn;t remove the derailure

Just riding along....

My LBS here's this all the time. They all know it really means

"I was taking a six foot drop-to-flat"

I took a 6 inch drop, off a curb...
flat indeed, but that doesn't even break my sisters bike.

kramnnim 02-15-08 08:10 PM

Hmm...I wonder what he bent, then. What part of your seat is stripped?

BFG 02-16-08 01:30 AM

Cheeto, for Pete's sake, was it the dérailleur hanger he bent back? You dont have to remove the Der. to do that.

Cheeto 02-16-08 06:39 AM

He stuck two metal bars in where my axel goes, and he started pulling and twisting thats all I know.
My the screw that keeps it from tilting back and front, it's been replaced once already, but it's loose again.

NitroPye 02-16-08 11:08 AM

I have no idea what you are trying to say half the time.

Also, if someone just starts pulling and twisting and you don't know what they are doing you should probably call the police.

I do that all the time on a set of Rhyno Lites, out of loading docks and such. I've knocked the wheel out of true doing it once or twice, but never unrideable. The mechanic just trues it and sends me on my way. Half the time, he's with me when I do that.

That went a little to far there....

Yes I agree, Kindly lay off those type of jokes.

Everythings fixed, But I'm still convinced I need a bike that can take what I wanna do.

anyone got a decent dually for a decent price LOL

EthanYQX 02-16-08 07:18 PM

I've got one with Mercalli suspension and full Shimano Tourney. $650.

Cheeto 02-16-08 07:22 PM

What type of bike?
maybe something in the future.

kramnnim 02-16-08 07:23 PM

Mercalli? Sweet. That's the one with the carbon fiber muffler bearings, isn't it?

What have you done to "bend" the Trek?

Cheeto 02-16-08 07:53 PM

Lets see... I rode the XC trails at Dosset Trails GA (spelling on dosset is wrong I know) and rode on the back areas of the Airforce base... and... Checked the mail and went off a curb.

Apparently a curb breaks a mountian bike... I don't get it, and I'm rather pissed off/ discouraged from it.
I don't really trust my bike anymore.
It's a shame I'm alreayd looking for another one to get in the next year, but I don't want to hurt my parents feelings as they scraped the bottom of the bank account to get this bike for me..

I like haros reputation that it had in the BMX world.
I've been looking at the Haro Shift, or the Haro Escape sport.

Like th shift as it's dual.

ProFail 02-16-08 10:03 PM

You should put some Bonty Race X-Lite wheels on your bike.

Yeah, the Sun DoubleTracks aren't up to this guys abuse.

ProFail 02-17-08 12:16 AM

I'm thinking custom Seven Cycles Ti bars will compliment the X-Lites nicely as well.

Needs H-Bars on a Super Monster T, affixed with a road stem.
And the X-Lites. Yeah, that combo would work.

I wouldn't call a curb rider error, but to each his own.

How the hell is riding off/into a curb not rider error? Whether it was intentional or on accident, he ran into it, the biking didn't fail, causing him to run into/off the curb.

Do you plan to contribute anything to this thread?

No. No I wasn't.

Anyway, unless he was riding at thirty MPH INTO the curb, I don't think the bike should have failed. If riding off a curb is rider error, then god-forbid anyone try to use that "warranty schtick" at their LBS.

Opinion^ Just saying, don't attack me because of that.

Good thing that's just an opinion. I would hate for people to take it as truth.

So you admit that you've voided every single warranty on your bike?
