shock fork for a dinosaur

I ride a 1991 Gary Fisher AL-1 with a 1.25 headtube.

Is there a shock fork that will fit my bike?

I'm starting to think that I'll have to either suffer the pounding or invest in a new bike...any thoughts?

I'm believe that you can get a reducer that will take it down to 1.25".

Edit: Here's the link to adapters/reducers from another thread:
