Identifying Frame
Have had my mountain bike for a couple of years now after buying it from a friend. It now needs a bit of work doing to it.
I am trying to identify the frame make. Its brushed aluminum with the only marks being the frame number; AM2K followed by 6 numbers.
The Forks are Manitou produced in 2001 so i guess the 2k is the year. Any Ideas?

Bikes: I have been riding a Trek 800Sport MTB to work since 2002. Before that, I had an old Raleigh. I purchased a Trek 2.1 in early July, 2009. I use this bike for recreation. The Trek 800 is my utility bike.
did you find out who made the frame? I have one too. AM2K024520. It is outfitted as a road bike, but with a 135cm spacing in the rear, I suspect it was originally intended as a tourer. The bicycle shop that sold this bike originally says it was a Barracuda frame, probably mid to late nineties. He put an old Deore XT rear hub on the rear and a mid- to late-nineties Ultegra (Shimano 600) front hub. A Deore XT front derailleur and a Dura Ace rear. An eight speed Shimano 600 brifters controlled a Dura Ace front and EX500 rear brake. I had to rebuild the wheels. The rims were shot.
If you verified the manufacturer, I'd be interested in knowing, especially if there are any stats on the frame dimensions. I can measure, but am uncertain of the head tube and seat tube angles.

AM2 kinda made me think Barracuda also but their model similar to that was actually A2M. A2M was totally MTB.
They did have a Crossfire hybrid that might make for a nice tourer, perhaps that's what you have lawr?

PS: I just found out the Barracuda Urban Assault had a 1 1/8 inch head tube. My frame has a 1 inch head tube.
