What about the headsets guys?? I was just comparing specs and the 2000 has a Tange-Seiki(sp?) and the 2002 has a Grease-lite WTB...Is this a big difference?

I am still following any replies that might get posted

I have meant to go much earlier (still no bike yet) Today I was going in, at the latest, this Saturday, now that the snowstorm has moved on & it is much warmer out.

If the headset on 2000 is not so good can I exchange it for the better 2002 headset (paying to do so of course)?
I have pretty much decided on the 2000 because of the generally nice quality (after going over all the great sharing ppl have done here and checking out other various comparisons on other bikes, etc.) and also cause of the good deal on sale. If there is something for sure i ought to be aware of on the headset please let me know!
thanx for bringing it up fubar ~

may be leaving very soon~

in appreciation,
Emma

Don't overreact over the headset. Just use it until it needs replacing. The one on the 2000 model is basic, no sealed bearings or anything fancy, but will work great with minimal maintenance! I wouldn't change it out until you need to (years down the road!)

Good luck and let us know when you get it!

Pics are nice too!

What Fubar5 means is that the headsets are different. The 2002 is better than the one on the 2000, but this is such a small detail that it's not worth considering. The Tange-Seiki components are perfectly good. Something like this should not be much of a consideration in the purchase, and as the nut says, it's not the kind of thing you shold worry about untill you've put many thousands of miles and many years into it.

I was just wondering. The Pine Mountain seems to have good specs, and the Tange headset seemed a little out of place, and since I know nothing about Tange I thought I'd bring it up.
