I'd actally agree with them, although I'd say the 3900 is more of a Fire Road runner/ light XC trails.
Heavy Ridin' is sketchy, I always wonder if the frame can hold up to it.

Of course it can. The Schwinn can go anywhere man can go, so that one can go too. You don't need a $3000 bike to handle a tough trail.

I'd settle on a 600 dollar base bike, then over time I'd pour my money into them parts.
the 3900's frame is a bit upsetting, however.

But I agree, you don't need 3000 dollar bike to ride good, or be fast.
