What do you lube with after you wash off your MTB of all the mud and grime?
I've been negligent of properly upkeeping my Specialized Rockhopper. After I get it really dirty I typically spray it down with the hose and put her away in the garage. This past weekend with all the snow melt and rain last week, I came home particularly muddy. After my typical spraying down with the hose I really looked over my components. No rust or anything, but they look like they "need" something. I'm thinking lubrication, but the chain is still pretty dirty. Actually I was thinking of hitting up the chain with a degreaser and then lubing it up again, but am not sure.
What do you use to degrease and lube on your MTB? What shouldn't I touch with the degreaser and lube?
Thanks for the help.

Any citrus degreaser is fine. Use a chain cleaner(roller) and then relube with Pedros. Pick one for your riding conditions.
Also some of that B-9 I think is what it's called I put onto the contact points on the front and rear der and on my shock and fork.

After i spray my chain off with the water, I hit it with WD-40, dry it off with paper towel, and then put on more lube.

rock 'n' roll for the chain (don't lube the rest of the components)
triflow for the joints in derailleurs
grease on the bearings (i use phil wood)
i mention the grease cause one of the issues with hosing a bike down is that you can force water past seals and into bearings (not that i'm saying you have to rebuild your hubs now but be aware)

In my garage sits a pump-up sprayer with a mixture of simple green lightly diluted. After a few rides I give a nice misting bath of SImple "G", and Hose her off. Then towel dry (this removes the thin film of dirt). Wait 15 minutes and Lube, then hang up tp dry.

^^ Good one. Just think how fast it would be if he motivated it with inspiration rather than fear. Whooooosh!

Rock 'n Roll Gold for the most part, but for the winter and spring, when it's a lot wetter, I use Rock 'n Roll Blue. The blue stuff has a little more paraffin mixed in there and seems to work a little better, last a little longer in the wet weather.

cleans and lubes the chain - wipe off the excess with a shop rag before you ride.
