I got a goodwill bike recently also. Specialized xc comp in incredible condition.

It's a crappy shot, I know. But I just built it up. First mountain bike for a roadie. I decided not to go the CL route, go big or go home.....

My current trail bike )
Corratec X-Force 2012. 140/140mm. 14Kg. Cheap, but works rather well! https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-P...0/IMG_1558.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-a...0/IMG_1555.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-n...0/IMG_1559.jpg |
That looks nice.
|
Fascinating floating-shock design and a good-looking bike too. Had to do some research - -Corratec had never been on my radar.
|
Working on something new.

It's not as if I'm going to win any hill climbs on it anyhow. |
I'm liking the looks of the on one fat bike, I think I'm getting won over.
|
^^ It has a very Evil Imperial-esque look.

All right Mr. Demille, I'm ready for my close up. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/IMG_0386.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/IMG_0388.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/IMG_0385.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/IMG_0384.jpg Throwing in some lighter tubes vs. the stock boat anchors dropped it down to a svelte 32# this afternoon. The new tubes are a full pound ligher each. Cheap, easy, and the best place to lose it - the wheels. |
Got my Fatty a few weeks ago....sure been loving it!

Nice! I'm almost wondering if drilling the rims is actually worth the time. But, I've got a couple decent hole saws already, so may as well. Cheap and easy, just time consuming. So I'll save it for some crappy weather day this winter.

If only Brooks made a bright orange saddle to match! Loving the On*Ones on this page!
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...psd4982351.jpg I used a Hougen Holcutter to drill the rims and it went a lot smoother and faster than a regular hole saw. It has a shoulder that prevents plunge thru....didn't have worry about hitting the spokes. |
Nothing special...this is my "I think I want to try out mountain biking" bike. New pedals are on the way. I also managed to eat dirt within the first mile of riding it. So far, so good.
