I got a goodwill bike recently also. Specialized xc comp in incredible condition.

It's a crappy shot, I know. But I just built it up. First mountain bike for a roadie. I decided not to go the CL route, go big or go home.....

It's actually not that bad - 68* as is. Considering my Kamui and the TRc are both at 67*, but this one won't steepen up with any fork compression, it's pretty nice.

It's not as if I'm going to win any hill climbs on it anyhow.

I'm liking the looks of the on one fat bike, I think I'm getting won over.

Throwing in some lighter tubes vs. the stock boat anchors dropped it down to a svelte 32# this afternoon. The new tubes are a full pound ligher each. Cheap, easy, and the best place to lose it - the wheels.

Nice! I'm almost wondering if drilling the rims is actually worth the time. But, I've got a couple decent hole saws already, so may as well. Cheap and easy, just time consuming. So I'll save it for some crappy weather day this winter.

You could be a bit more creative and dremel out some ♠ ♣ ♥ ♦ or asterisks or "Y O U R B I K E S U C K S" or something . . . .

I used a Hougen Holcutter to drill the rims and it went a lot smoother and faster than a regular hole saw. It has a shoulder that prevents plunge thru....didn't have worry about hitting the spokes.

Nothing special...this is my "I think I want to try out mountain biking" bike. New pedals are on the way. I also managed to eat dirt within the first mile of riding it. So far, so good.
