Yeah man im sold on the Maestro suspension. I dont think i'd care for any other type or rear suspension ever again. The Yukon FX had it and that was a cheap bike and it felt better than alot of my friends expensive bikes. So when i sold it i looked around at other brands but ended up with this bike. Another Giant with the Maestro. I think i will own this bike for a good while im so happy with it.

I'm wanting to get one of those. Maybe willl.. How aggressive do you find it? By that I mean, how much abuse could it take? Since it isn't a dedicated cross country bike.

Noob question: what's the wrap on the chain-stay @drive-side? Seems like some of you guys use a built-up foam/??? section instead of the stickon decal stuff used on road bikes?

I usually use an old tube. It's to prevent chainslap.

Ditto, just cut up an old tube and zip tied it to the chainstay.

Which bike are you talking about? The Giant Yukon was a great strong bike which i abused very heavily for about 6 months and never a single problem. I highly recomend that bike to someone starting out that wants a full suspension bike. I sold it because i got a bit more addicted to the bike scene and wanted something lighter and faster. But as a cross country bike imo it was great and could take anything you throw at it without even flinching.
The Giant Trance i have ridden once so far very hard. And its a so much easier bike to handle since it is alot lighter and of course has much better components. And who said that the Giant Trance X3 was not a cross country bike? From what i read on the bike before3 i bought it, i hear it is one of the best with THEE best price tag

The Anthem is the dedicated XC bike. The trance is an all mountain bike - more aggressive cross country, more drops, etc.

I thought you just meant if you could use it as a cross country bike and can it take the abuse. Well if its a more of an all mountain bike then id say you answered your own question. lol But yeah man. I rode it pretty hard for 4 hrs Sunday and it does everything so well. If you are thinking of getting one id tell you that you are doing a very smart thing. I love it

I work at a Giant dealer, but we don't stock them. Would have to special order it, so no returns (even for me). Tell me how it goes over the coming weeks!
