1998 Gary Fisher Aquila - it's old and has been abused but still climbs hard up the mountain. I'll be buying a full suspension ride, but will have to wait until spring to pick one up. For now, it's just me any my CroMo Fisher...

The place I ride has a few tree stands so the more orange the better!

Exactly why I wouldn't let my wife buy me a white helmet. Bright colors are recommended, but I figured white's an exception.

That'd smart a little bit!

Got my MTB a few months ago on Cl after only riding road for a long time.

Been using it as a commuter with slicks, rack and road gearing and finally got to hit the trails for the first time today.
Fun fun fun. A little sketchy in certain parts as I have no skills but I kept it reasonable and kept the rubber side down.

Simple Hardrock Sport as it came from the factory, only change was SPD pedals, flat bar and bar-ends.

You do realize that you could be buying an 09 for quite a good price right now, right?

yes, but I generally spend money on my kids and family members during the holiday season...not myself. Anyways, my LBS tends to have plenty of last years closeouts well into the next year...sometimes into summer.

i'm gonna go ahead and count my cross as an mtb since all the cross races i wanted to do are over. it's acutally single speed right now and i'm decided with 42mm-44mm knobbies to put on it.

Why no ride report yet?

craigcraigcraig 11-03-09 11:29 AM

well i got it thursday, so i rode it around downtown Austin for a bit but then had to jet over to the austin museum of art and take notes for a paper due monday so i got home and it was dark so i watched THE OFFICE (of course, what else do you do thursday night???) friday i had school and went camping which turned into making a fire in the back yard and cooking steaks on it. saturday i helped a friend with stuff for him to show his art in a gallery that night which was halloween and sunday i had to go help my parents with stuff and then to a friends band playing a show that night and monday i finished the paper and was too tired. today is not possible either with study groups after i get out of class at 3. Not enough time to get home to the bike before studying from 6-8. Just been busy i guess. It's pretty fun though i have ridden it around my neighborhood some but it's flat for miles out here and in a small town not many things to jump on or off or over just some logs and electric box things. :/ the time will come though.

ed 11-03-09 11:34 AM

You could have just said you've been busy.;)

craigcraigcraig 11-03-09 11:49 AM

i know but i meant to give a shout out to my friend and his art (www.rquad.com) but totally forgot that and my friend Travis and his band (www.myspace.com/peacockwarlock) but forgot that as well. so here they are.

I rode the Banshee Morphine for about half of the lift season in CO. It was a little rough on the body so I got this...
