I think I've posted this before, but it has dirt drops now, so here it is again. It's on Schwalbe Marathon Pro tyres at the moment, because I've been using it on the road a lot. They do surprisingly well on trails though, provided things don't get too messy. It's going back to knobbies for the winter though, and I'll tape the bars up when I'm sure I've got the brake lever position right.

I call it A-bomb, short for abomination. It is my urban chucker/light freeride hucker/bike park thrasher! To upgrade in the future will be better crank with bottom bracket and bash guard, shorter stem, and better platform pedals.

^how about 'The Short Bus'
LOL @ the Manipoo 'minute' as in "It will take only a minute to leak out all the oil after I blow the seals on this 1 foot drop" j/k with you....you seem like a nice kid. have fun and ride your short bus like you stole it. |
Finally got rid of the ugly BMX wannabe black and gray checkers, The result surprised even me, hehe. Looks WAY better IMHO. Now I have to gt rid of the 6.5 pound SR fork. It does the job, but the bike could weigh 27 pounds instead 30.6 with a more decent exmple. Not bad for starting out at 33 and change out of the bike shop, just from simple and until now cheap upgrades. Now I am going to have to start spending money. I love the bike and how it rides, so I am going to keep it. I may get a 29er someday, but not just yet. Been looking at the Giant Talons lately at work, and the 2012's look ten times better than the 2011's. Oh well, I'm rambling now. Here's the before and after.,,,,BD

C Law, "short bus", haha funny. Glad you are reliving your childhood memories. I am far from being a kid, though I am a kid at heart and enjoy having fun in life and developing new skills. Hence the reason to try out a different style of mountain biking than I am used to, with a smaller shorter frame for a lower center of gravity. This bike will be used for LIGHT freeride/urban/bike park purposes as I am new to it. The MANITOU Minutes have served their purpose for over a year without any problems. They have handled many drops, some more than 2 feet some less and have never let me down. I appologize they are not the flashy $700+ set of fox forks you may have. I realize that I will not be doing any 20 foot gaps or 10 foot drops with them, but I would not be doing that regardless of what type of forks I had. Thanks for your input. And so this isn't a nonsense reply....

Very nice, sam! It's been a long time coming. For those of us who followed the project the whole way, it's been fun to watch and we/re proud of you.

Not strictly MTB but I can change out the tyres and go bush if choose to, its my commuter/do it all bike. Just finished last weekend, I'll ride it till its settled in then paint it and ride it some more. I did this one because I liked the Carrera frame. Its a mix of every thing, SRAM X5/X7 drivetrain except the Alivio crankset, Exotic rigid Aluminium fork, Magura pro front hub, Chosen rear, Velocity cliffhanger rims, ECT suspension seatpost, Magura clara NOS disc and NOS Alivio canti's at the rear so I can easily fit a rack for trekking.

Sweet! I didn't know Carrera did a elevated chain stay frame. Diggin' the mullet brakes but why the aluminum exotic fork instead of the carbon version?
I'm working on a similar project (elevated chain stay). Just waiting on a head tube reducer and fork. |

Sette Venom Build

Just finished (mostly) my Sette Venom. Boxxer R2C2 fork and Shimano Saint Gruppo (2x9). Still deciding on a dropper seatpost, leaning towards a Gravity Dropper Turbo. |
^^ Nice single-pivot goodness there :thumb:. Very reminiscent of my (former) Yeti AS-X. Time to take that bad boy up to Stevens Pass.
