Just converted my trusty old Horse to a SS.

My new Trek 4300... http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...9_180025-1.jpg
After my first trail ride with it... http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...814_164922.jpg This thing is absolutely amazing compared to my walmart bike. I love it. |
Upgrade time... courtesy of local CL I picked up a couple year old race wheelset.
Chris Kings ISO hubs, DT Swiss spoked with Stan's ZTR 355 running my newer Specialized Captains tubless on my old FSR Expert http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...n/DSCN1062.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...n/DSCN1063.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...n/DSCN1065.jpg Disassembled, did a full service on both hubs and the first ride today was awesome. Quick engagement and the upgrade to tubeless feels like its added quite a bit of rolling speed to the bike. Hands down one of the best upgrades you can do to a MTB. |

New stoppers on the 5 spot. Worthy of a few pics. These things kick butt!

I put my new 29er together after work today. I haven't had a chance to ride it anywhere but my driveway yet but I'm excited to take it out tomorrow. It's a hell of a lot more simple than the rest of the bikes in here but that's how I like it :)

Some very nice bikes here.
Here is my 06 Hardrock Sport Disc. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=215677 |
A new frame, now a work in progress. Swapped most of the stuff from my aging, pig-ish, a bit too big for me Devinci Frantik frame. Pedals and rides fan****ingtastically. Not what I'll be grabbing for most daily driver trail rides, but some days/certain areas will call for it. And the lifts. 32#10oz. as shown.
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/IMG_0045.jpg To come: new rear brake (stole the one in the pic off another bike to get rolling) Works Components angled headset cups to drop another degree of head angle, and a Race Face Atlas FR bar in green. The rear DHR is purely "meh" inducing, but it's what was kicking around for a DH tire. Will ride it until death, then swap in a 2.35 High Roller DH http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/IMG_0046.jpg The Domain is chunky, but it just plain works. A Totem Solo Air would rock, but again, already had this fork, and for drastically less cash. rims are for sure more on the XC side, but work. When they die, will be swapping in some XM819's and swapping to a full tubeless setup. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/IMG_0044.jpg It's awesome that they put that sticker on. Got two rides over the last two days on it, and it rocks. Will probably get way more local trail saddle time than the Devinci, since it weighs a crap load less, and pedals way, way better. |
I like how you said the Devinci was "aging". It's like 2yrs old, right? I can't talk, I guess. I don't stick with the same setup very long, either...though I've had the Komodo frame for quite a while.

Awesome build! Did you do it yourself or buy it that way? The PUSS came as a frameset only if I'm not mistaken.

Bigger than I need for most of my local riding, but there are enough spots to make it worth having, plus still being able to take the lift served stuff around here. That's where the -1* headset will come in handy. It's about 66* and 14" BB height with the 7" fork - the Works C. cups will let me get slacker without raising the BB higher. Long story short: I wanted a big hit bike that could survive the lifts, but not be unwieldy on the local trails. If you had to have a one bike quiver, this would be a good call. Dropper post, different tires/wheels for different days and you'd be set. |
3yrs...daggum time flies.
I gotta say...the ReignX is a sexxy wee beast. |

Was just reading over on RM yesterday of a few guys building Reigns/Reign Xs as their burly trailbikes and, dang, here you show up with one, scrub. They're quite a machine.
Leave that decal on. I hear if you remove it, they get a skittish tendency to swap ends easily and without warning. Kind of a directional LBD. |
got given this a couple of months back, and its been a nice project to get it how i wanted it:

Finished my SS foothill blaster (that's what I'm calling it) it's not a bad at all, I've been jumping it a bit too, the forks will need to go but I had them laying around from my trek so I used them for now.
First mock-up http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s/100_0663.jpg Second mock-up paint mostly stripped. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s/100_0678.jpg Finished, the color is Midnight metallic black, that I used a purple base with. (it looks pretty wicked in the sun) I for some reason decided to go with a blue chain and grips. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s/100_0697.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s/100_0698.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...s/100_0699.jpg |
