High enough volume for my day to day riding, roll way faster than the Nevegals and Minions I've been using otherwise, and have not had any loss of traction issues other than in the really slimy wet once in a while. Fairly light. I wish they made the 2.1 in an EXO version. Can also be found for not too much cash if you shop around.

A nice combo I've run a couple times on rides when I've wanted more beef is the 2.25 ADvantage in back, and Minion DHF 2.5 3C/EXO up front. Way slower rolling combo, but steamrolls over things and has awesome traction.

Wold you say they roll faster than Maxxis Ingitors? I am running Ignitor 2.35 Front and Crossmark 2.1 rear at the moment and am looking for something with that's a bit faster than the Ignitor for XC racing on hardpack to medium loose terrain.

Can't really tell you. Tried an Ignitor very briefly, but the traction sucked so badly it came off the bike very quickly.

Im so jealous. How does it ride?
I have always wanted a rigid and this grew my desires.

LOL...as much as I dish out crap of people weighing light bikes...my daughter wanted to weigh her little "Seashell Princess" bike last night. It was 26lbs. I weighed the Crapper that I built for $60...24lbs 14oz.

Hou-Tex 06-22-11 08:39 AM

Rides excellent. It reminds me of the old Klein Attitude.

ed 06-22-11 08:48 AM

Ahhh...yes. I remember the Klein attitude. You could see it in every Klein owner's face. Smug, holier than thou...that attitude changed awefully quickly when Trek came along and gave 'em the smackdown.

Those kids bikes are really getting out of control weight wise. I am astounded how much they weigh, everytime they come in for a rear axle change.(a requirement for using training wheels).,,,,BD

Made some changes to it since the last time I posted it. Rear hub was converted to bolt on, took off the race face cranks, was not overly thrilled with them and threw on the saint cranks, new rear brake, grips and saddle and the rear tire is almost trashed. Frame looks like crap now, it's taken a beating since early may and the pics simply don't do it justice.

Still the ugliest bike I've ever owned, but still the best bike I've owned with responsiveness.

Zephyr11 06-26-11 10:55 PM

Ugly, huh? Description notwithstanding, I think it looks pretty good. So, how many credit cards can you fit between that saddle and rear tire?

It clears by less than a 1/4"

It's not that bad actually, it really isn't the ugliest bike that I've owned, that went to the previous dmr. Towards the end of the sidekick being a complete unit, I just didn't give a hoot on how it looked that the last repaint, I already knew that I was going to replace the frame, thus a hack job of painting the frame.

Bikedued 06-28-11 09:35 PM

That monster cross is sick!! It needs a new pic with the better wrap.:thumb:,,,,BD

And WHAT are those bars? They look like the ones the Raleigh Marathon came with a year or two ago. I need a model and brand if they have one!

All cleaned up and with slicks on it (heh) since I just moved to where I can actually ride a bike on the road. Going to get a road bike in the next week then back to the regular tires on it and back to the dirt.
