I'd really like to get me some Monkey Lite XC bars, but I'm a little worried as I'm about 200# and I ride rigid. I've seen some reviews on mtbr that say they're strong enough for a big guy but I just have a hard time believing that a clydesdale on a rigid with those bars is a good idea. Anyone else here have real life experience as a big dude [on rigid] with these bars.

As a side note, I realize I could go with the DH version of this bar and it'd still be a little lighter than my stock bar, and I'd get the feel of carbon. It would just be nice to be able to get away with the lighter xc bar.

i'm 175# and have front suspension and carbon bars scare me.

im not so much afraid of the bar breaking as i am the thought of spending $75-150 to plant my face into a steerer tube. (i can do that for free)

how bout a set of ea70 flat bars? light and aluminum...

The weight savings and bling factor are not worth the dental work to me. Im a clyde and don't buy carbon bars. What would you save?

Somethings don't mix and two of those are Clydesdale and lightweight parts. Only thing I can relate to you is that I have a Tandem that is ridden agressively offroad. We have to use a lot of Downhill spec parts on this bike as "standard" quality does not stand up to the punishment.

Now if there is a Top Downhiller using C.F.Bars then find out what he is using and then empty your wallet to get the same pair that he uses.

I certainly don't use carbon bars. Oh, but wait . . . I'm not a Top Downhiller either .
