New non-disc wheelset

Any suggestions for a "descent" wheelset under $250 that is non-disc?

I swear I'm not trying to be a smart ass here, but did you mean decent as in fair in quality, or descent as in a wheelset intended for descending?

I like my Rhyno LItes, Deore hubs. I'm @225 and have the hardest rocks in the world where I ride.

I ordered a pair of vuelta zerolites from nashbar, I doubt they are great, but a double walled rim that looks good, for $80 shipped to my house (regular $200, 65% off and then 15% off that price with coupon code) Guy that owns the LBS told me they are descent (a fair quality) wheelset, especially at that price

WHy are you looking to spend $250 for a new set of non-disc wheels when you can pick up used top end for next to nothing. I picked up a set of Mavic 517 for $31 with some really nice hubs. They're so common, some guys don't even list them on CL. Ask around or post a WTB ad on your CL and see what comes out of the closet.

I think sometimes people forget to look used before new. Plus if your new to biking some folks don't feel comfortable buying used not knowing if what they are buying is actually what it should be. I can't blame someone necessarily...............as folks get versed and more educated they will at times shop used. I know I always look to used but hardly ever find what exactly I may need or can use. I do look and sometimes find a few things.

^^ exact. I looked used, the stuff I found was a bit sketchy, and I didnt know EXACTLY what to look for, so I bought new....with WARRANTY.
