Now I am looking to by my first real bike and am not sure what to get or look at. One of the bikes I have been looking at is the Specialized xc comp. try as many different bikes in your price range and get the one that is most comfortable to you. comfort is the only thing that matters right now, the rest will come. Trek, Specialized, whatever they have in the bike shop, are all about the same, they are all reliable and good "first real bikes." as you get really into it, then get a turner, a knolly, or a pivot.
